People have been left divided after trying one of the most unique Easter eggs by Domino’s Pizza – it is inspired by the pizza giant’s iconic dip and even comes with a pot of the sauce to dip your chocolate in
People have been left divided after trying an unusual Easter egg this year – a Domino’s Pizza egg inspired by the beloved garlic and herb dip.
Supermarket shelves are filled with chocolate treats – and while many of us love a classic milk chocolate Easter egg, some like to push the boat out with their flavours and try something different. Sainsbury’s is offering a Tiramisu flavoured egg this year for £10, Tesco is selling After Eight eggs for mint fans, while M&S has a giant custard cream Easter egg as well as an extra thick pistachio and milk chocolate egg for £20.
But Domino’s has unveiled what might just be the most unusual Easter egg to date – one inspired by its legendary Garlic & Herb Dip. In a bold move that marries savoury with sweet, the pizza giant has infused white chocolate eggs with its signature garlic and herb flavours – it is not for the faint hearted.
Plus, each egg is accompanied by a 25g pot of the famous dip for those brave enough to pair the two together.
The garlic and herb dip remains Domino’s all-time favourite condiment, with the company revealing that in 2023 Brits consumed enough of the dip to fill an astonishing 17 Olympic-sized swimming pools. So, they just could not resist missing out on Easter.
Drawing inspiration from the expertise of some of the world’s best chocolatiers, Domino’s has developed its own original chocolate to create this culinary experiment. This careful process ensures a perfect balance between the creamy white chocolate and the savoury garlic and herb essence.
Domino’s fans have been sharing their verdict on the unique treat. Content creator @angelina.pj on TikTok shared her verdict after hearing a lot of buzz about the £15 Easter egg. She said: “I don’t know what our life has come to for Domino’s to think that a garlic and herb Easter egg would sound good.” Opening the treat from the box, she added: “It’s quite small I’d say. Of course you have the garlic and herb dip.”
Tucking into the combination, she added: “Guys, I don’t think my taste buds will ever recover from this. Don’t get me wrong I love garlic and herb dip – I but this thing all over my pizza – but with chocolate? Ain’t no way. The actual chocolate doesn’t taste that bad.” She gave it a 5/10.
Commenting on her video, one said: “That looks wild! Definitely curious to see if it tastes as good as it sounds. Would be fun to give it a try!” But another said the Easter egg is “criminal”.
Meanwhile, the staff at Cool FM in Northern Ireland gave it a go. Paulo from the show said: “It’s actually alright.” Meanwhile host Pete added: “That’s quite good,” after giving it a try.
Content creator @meatsandcheats on TikTok also reviewed it and said: “It was pretty…actually damn good. I would recommend.” User @chlo.craig offered a rating of 7.3 out of 10.
Elsewhere on the video app, people commented as one said: “Oh my goodness it’s actually real! I thought it was fake!” “Nope not for me,” added another. “Yuk, no way,” commented another. “That doesn’t sound very nice,” insisted one other.
