Donald Trump made a joke about Harvey Weinstein while on a visit to the White House – but the gag was quickly branded ‘revolting’ by Fox News viewers
President Donald Trump’s attempt to crack a joke involving Harvey Weinstein backfired dramatically, falling flat with viewers.
The grounds of the White House were buzzing with activity on Wednesday, June 18, as workers erected new flagpoles – an immediate necessity, according to the President. In the midst of this hubbub and surrounded by construction workers in bright yellow vests and helmets, Trump made his remark while addressing the gathered press.
With FOX News cameras rolling, the President cracked a joke about the workers “making a fortune.”
and needing to get back to it, quipping that amongst them could be someone who’d catch the eye of a movie producer – promptly exempting Weinstein as a prospect.

He casually remarked, “Somewhere in this group there is somebody that is gonna captivate some movie producer. Not Harvey Weinstein.”, as reported by Mirror US. His comment managed to coax a smattering of chuckles from some of the workers present, reports the Express.
Continuing undaunted, Trump added, “Harvey’s seen better days. It won’t be Harvey but it will be somebody.”
But when the footage appeared on Fox’s webpage, it was met with a chilly reception online. One viewer sharply criticized, “Ha a god damn moron. No you f—–g nitwit you can’t appoint yourself. Jesus Christ. This is our president. The dumbest f—-r walking.”
Another chimed in expressing disbelief, writing, “Why the hell is he thinking about his fellow sex pest rn?”.
One person expressed their shock online, saying, “What the actual f–k is he talking about? Harvey Weinstein? And why is that the first movie producer he can think of?” Another individual voiced their dismay by commenting, “Trump uses sexual offender Harvey Weinstein as a punch line, as if his crimes are just another joke to him. Disgusting.”
Weinstein has found himself once again in the New York courts, facing a retrial. The disgraced film mogul had previously been convicted on sexual assault charges in New York, but those verdicts were overturned last year.
Following in-depth deliberations, the jury found Weinstein guilty on one count of rape yet cleared him on a separate count. Deliberations continue regarding a third rape charge that remains unresolved.
The final sentence for Weinstein will be set after all verdicts have been handed down.
One juror approached Judge Farber with a request to be excused due to tension within the jury, citing incidences such as gossiping in lifts.
“The experience I’ve had in the day-and-a-half here, in good conscience, I don’t think this is fair and just,” the juror proclaimed.
