Trump last night ordered more documents from the Grand Jury probe into Epstein to be unsealed
Donald Trump wrote Jeffrey Epstein a bawdy note for his birthday in 2003, three years before the dead paedophile’s first arrest, it has been claimed.
Under huge pressure from his supporters over the scandal, Trump last night ordered more documents from the Grand Jury probe into Epstein to be unsealed.
And US Attorney General Pam Bondi indicated that could happen as soon as today.
The note, part of a binder of messages to the financier for his 50th birthday, also saw Trump allegedly describe Epstein as an “enigma” and draw a lewd image of a naked woman.
The letter bearing Trump’s name includes text framed by the outline of what appears to be a hand-drawn naked woman and ends with, “Happy Birthday — and may every day be another wonderful secret,” according to the Wall Street Journal.
President Trump has denied having written the note, claiming it’s “fake”, and “not my language”. He has threatened to sue the newspaper.
The paper described the contents of the letter but did not publish a photo showing it entirely.
Maxwell was arrested in 2020 and convicted a year later on charges that she helped Epstein lure girls to be sexually abused.
Trump slammed the story in a lengthy social media post Thursday night, saying he spoke to both to the paper’s owner, Rupert Murdoch, and its top editor, Emma Tucker, and told them the letter was “fake.” Trump promised to sue the paper over the story, saying: “These are not my words, not the way I talk. Also, I don’t draw pictures.”
Shortly before the Journal’s article was published, Trump posted on Truth Social that he had ordered Bondi to “produce any and all pertinent Grand Jury testimony, subject to Court approval.”
Bondi added on X: “President Trump—we are ready to move the court tomorrow to unseal the grand jury transcripts.”
Trump and Epstein spent time together in the 90s and 00s, with Trump describing Epstein in 2002 as a “terrific guy”.
He’s a lot of fun to be with,” he said in a New York magazine profile. “It is even said that he likes beautiful women as much as I do, and many of them are on the younger side. No doubt about it—Jeffrey enjoys his social life.”
But in 2019, after Epstein’s second arrest, Trump indicated the pair had fallen out.
I knew him like everybody in Palm Beach knew him,” he said in the Oval Office at the time.
“I was not a fan of his, that I can tell you.”
