Donald Trump’s MAGA hats burned in protest as President faces backlash from own supporters

By staff11 July 2025No Comments4 Mins Read

Supporters of Donald Trump are calling for his own supporters to burn the iconic red MAGA hats as anger continues to grow over the Epstein Files, with the President also facing criticism from his own supporters

Burning MAGA hats

MAGA diehards are now calling for the torching of the iconic MAGA hat as outrage swells over the Epstein Files, even within Donald Trump’s own fan base.

The Justice Department announced on Monday that Jeffrey Epstein did not keep a “client list” and stated that no further files linked to the wealthy financier’s sex trafficking case would be disclosed. This comes despite earlier hints from Attorney General Pam Bondi that had heightened the anticipation of conservative pundits and conspiracy theorists.

The far-right has reacted with ire, accusing the Trump administration of leading them on a wild goose chase. Earlier this year, Bondi claimed in a Fox News interview that such a document was “sitting on my desk” awaiting her examination.

The uproar follows revelations from a member of the Trump family about the latest alarming sign of his “cognitive decline.”

Nick Fuentes, a contentious right-wing personality, expressed on X: “We need to burn our MAGA hats, I think that’s a solution. That’s the only language Trump will understand. He needs to be abandoned at this point.”, reports the Mirror US.

Trump has been criticised for entertaining Fuentes, who is labelled a white supremacist, at his Mar-a-Lago estate in 2022 as he prepared for the 2024 election campaign.

Fuentes continued: “Now he’s going to tell us there’s no Esptein black book, no client list. The message needs to be this: ‘We’re done. We don’t understand. The radical right is f***ing furious. We are done.'”.

He continued, saying he will now burn his MAGA hat, encouraging others to follow suit.

Another video showed a Trump supporter who voted for him in 2016 and 2020 setting his MAGA hats ablaze over the refusal to release the Epstein files. Although the video itself contains insensitive language that precludes us from publishing it, the images below tell their own story.

For weeks, Bondi indicated further revelations were on their way – ‘This is a new administration and everything will be made public’ – after the initial batch of files underwhelmed, failing to deliver the promised revelations which sparked widespread outrage among Trump supporters.

That particular episode, at which far-right social media personalities were welcomed at the White House in February and given dossiers marked “The Epstein Files: Phase 1” and “Declassified” which mostly contained pre-existing and public domain files, invited harsh words from conservative social media influencers who spoke out against Bondi.

In response to the lukewarm reception of the initial release, Bondi explained that a team of officials were examining a “truckload” of new evidence that had been handed over by the FBI.

During a March TV interview, she expressed her disappointment at the Biden administration for holding onto the documents, adding: “Sadly these people don’t believe in transparency, but I think more unfortunately, I think a lot of them don’t believe in honesty.”

Following an extensive months-long evaluation of the evidence held by the government, the Justice Department has concluded that no “further disclosure would be appropriate or warranted,” according to the memo.

The department observed that a considerable portion of the material had been sealed by a court to safeguard victims and noted that “only a fraction” of this information “would have been aired publicly had Epstein gone to trial.”
