Dunelm shoppers say they ‘don’t want to take off’ £18 hoodie

As an autumn chill sets in the air, people will be considering something that they haven’t touched for months—the central heating. While a few may have caved, some will do anything but switch it on unless it is absolutely necessary.

People might want to hold out a little longer by putting on a few extra layers to keep themselves warm until the temperatures really start to drop. There are plenty of cosy and cost-effective ways to make sure that the weather is not getting the better of you this time of year.

Dunelm has recently brought back its range of cosy wearables for those trying to resist cranking up the heating in September. A handy solution for staying warm, without having to trap yourself under a blanket or duvet, is quite simple – the Waffle Fleece Oversized Hoodie.

The homeware store only has this available in purple, with the brown option selling out from last year. It offers a “cosy and stylish” way to “wrap yourself in warmth” – whether you plan to snuggle into the sofa or you still have jobs to get done around the house.

There are similar items available to snap up before the cold really kicks in, like this Oversized Hoodie Blanket from Amazon in a range of colours from £14.99. Alternatively, this Oversized Fleece Hoodie Blanket in Debenhams has been slashed from £59.99 to £9.99.

But, priced at £18, Dunelm’s one-size hoodie is getting high praise from customers for keeping them warm to avoid high energy bills. One said: “Gorgeous, so so soft and easy to wear. I bought one for myself and my daughter, and we both love them.”

Another added: “Love it. This fleece is so light and warm that I don’t want to take it off. The price is so low brilliant.”

A third shared: “These are really lovely, lightweight to wear, but keep you surprisingly warm. It will fit even plus-sized people comfortably.”

A different user commented: “Warm and cosy, great to wear before the heating comes on or just need to feel warmer. Great with the hood up and hands in the pocket!”

But, not all feedback was positive. One person claimed that their hoodie was “not as thick or cosy as [they] had hoped.” Another said: “Really warm, ideal for the cold days and nights. Mine wasn’t stitched properly, so I had to fix it myself.”

However, others still praised the hoodie. One happy shopper said: “The warmest and cosiest piece of clothing I own. So soft and means I can keep the heating down.”
