GB News star Eamonn Holmes and his girlfriend Katie Alexander flashed beaming smiles as they went to the theatre together in London on Wednesday on a glamorous date night

Eamonn Holmes and girlfriend Katie Alexander were spotted in high spirits as they enjoyed a date night together.

The 65-year-old GB News star has been linked to 43-year-old relationship counsellor Katie since the collapse of his marriage to Ruth Langsford last year. Eamonn and the Loose Women star, 64, were in a relationship from 1996, welcomed a son named Jack in 2002, married in 2010, and shocked fans when they announced their split in May last year.

Eamonn has been able to turn to Katie for support and companionship – with reports revealing the pair knew each other for nine years before the broadcaster and his fellow TV star split. On Wednesday night, Eamonn and Katie flashed beaming smiles as they attended a theatre show together.

The couple were among theatre fans at the press night of The Last Laugh – a show that explores the lives of iconic British comedians Tommy Cooper, Eric Morecambe and Bob Monkhouse. Attending the production at London’s Noel Coward Theatre, Eamonn looked upbeat – months after revealing he is battling persistent pain in his body.

Dressed in a smart suit and with a dark tie, the TV star steadied himself with a walker as he arrived at and left the theatre. Katie beamed at his side, wearing a black dress with silver detailing and clutching a small handbag. It has been four months since the pair went public with their relationship – as the anniversary of Eamonn’s shock divorce announcement nears.

While Eamonn has remained reasonably silent about his split, soon-to-be ex-wife Ruth has shared some insight into her feelings at the end of her relationship with him. She told Women and Home recently: “I’m not delighted my marriage is over, but I’ve accepted it. I’m trying to now embrace the fact I’m single and can make choices that are just about me.

“Divorce is very painful. Most don’t do it in the public eye, with everybody having an opinion. But that’s the nature of my job. I’ve always had that and if you can’t cope, you shouldn’t be doing this job.”

Fans were gobsmacked when the once rock-solid pair announced their plans to divorce in May last year. They announced in a statement via a representative: “Ruth Langsford and Eamonn Holmes have confirmed their marriage is over and they are in the process of divorcing.”

In recent months, Eamonn has opened up about his health battles – explaining that he has been battling a pain in his back that has, at times, left him wheelchair bound. Interviewing a care-worker named Michelle who appeared on GB News last year in the run up to the general election, Eammon listened as she explained the long hours and low pay that she worked for – while saying that she would love to speak directly to politicians Keir Starmer, Rishi Sunak, and Nigel Farage.

Praising Michelle for her dedication to her job, Eamonn said: “I just want to say – what you do, I have been basically disabled for a year and a half or so and I have to have a career to do the smallest simplest things and it’s humiliating and humbling – but thank goodness that carers are available.”
