Former EastEnders actress, Luisa Bradshaw-White who played the lovable Tina Carter on the BBC One soap from 2013 to 2021, has left fans concerned with a deeply honest Instagram post about her mental health
EastEnders viewers have been left worried after a former cast member opened up about her emotional struggles, revealing she breaks down in tears every day since leaving the show. The actress, whose character met a tragic end in the BBC soap, has spoken candidly about her ongoing turmoil, prompting an outpouring of support from fans.
Luisa Bradshaw-White, 49, best known for playing Tina Carter, departed from EastEnders in 2021 when her character was murdered by serial killer Gray Atkins. While her exit was anticipated, the shocking nature of Tina’s demise took both the audience and the actress by surprise – an experience she described as “bittersweet.”
“Tina is a character I have invested a lot in and a character that I really love, so to see that end is quite sad,” Luisa told Digital Spy at the time. Reflecting on the moment she learned of Tina’s fate, she explained, “When you do an acting job, you usually know the ending. This is the only job where you don’t really know. So after all those years in character, then you find out the ending, it’s quite a strange experience.”
Although filming Tina’s final scene was difficult, Luisa admitted she appreciated the intensity of the moment. “A character that you love, a character that you’ve invested in and you played for seven years [dying] – it’s odd,” she shared. “It felt like the end of an era, so it was sad in some ways, but really exciting in others. It’s an exciting storyline to get as an actor. It was nice to play the drama of it all.”
Since stepping away from acting, Luisa has embraced a new path as a DJ, performing at Freedom in the Forest, an event focused on ecstatic dance and cacao ceremonies. She frequently shares her passion for music on social media, often posting clips of herself enjoying the energy of the decks.
Beyond music, she has also delved into spiritual healing and has spoken openly about her past struggles with mental health, including “really bad bipolar and an extreme eating disorder.”
However, a recent Instagram post has sparked fresh concern among fans, as Luisa revealed that she has been experiencing deep emotional shifts. “Finding it hard to post these days as the experiences I am having can’t fit into words. My ability to feel just keeps expanding. And when I say this I mean feeling ALL of it!” she wrote.
“I am nearly always cracked wide open at the beauty of life….. and the pain. Devastatingly beautiful. I cry every day. I can’t stop. There are so many similarities to when I was diagnosed bipolar years ago and then sadly heavily medicated. It makes me question the diagnosis and DEFINITELY question the medication but that is another story and another timeline.
“I have so many people around me experiencing the same. I am so grounded and without fear. I am able to hold these intense energies and frequencies. I love myself so fiercely in this intense energy.
“I cry to move the energy. I cry because life is so beautiful. I cry because I get to be this free, this sovereign in this lifetime. I cry because I am not alone, even when there are no human souls around me I have everything in nature holding me. I cry because it gets to be THIS GOOD TO FEEL EVERYTHING.
“It has never felt so good and so safe to feel so much. Whatever you are experiencing in this portal we are in… surrender. And love.” Fans have since flooded her post with messages of love and encouragement, hoping she continues to find strength in her journey.
One commented: “You can do this beautiful, you can get through this. Be kind to yourself. It’s hard for us women once we get to this age. If it helps, I feel the same. Perimenopausal and FEELING like I’ve never felt before it’s actually so crazy how vast these feelings I am getting are. You got this.”
Another echoed: “Sending you so much love and support you beautiful being. It’s a blessing and a curse to feel so much.” While someone else added: “Awhhh Lucia, thank you for your honesty, it’s really so refreshing. You have made me feel sane again because now I know it’s not just me.”
