Ahead of the bank holiday weekend, Amazon has launched a sale with a huge focus on its own range of devices. Shoppers can make savings on Amazon’s own-brand devices, from the popular Fire TV stick to Echo Dot.

First up in the sale is the popular Fire TV Stick 4K (Newest gen), now £39.99, was £59.99. Built with ‘improved streaming performance’, the stick features 4K Ultra HD and Dolby Atmos audio, which makes watching films and shows more entertaining.

Viewers can also use it to stream TV and watch favourites from Netflix, Prime Video, Disney+ and more (subscription fees may apply). It also has an Xbox app to stream and play games without the need of a console.

The Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K has stellar reviews, and more than 18,000 reviews. One buyer rated it five stars for its easy-to-follow instructions and installation.

They added: “The wifi connection is instant. The volume and voice control are great, I was amazed what you can actually get on a Fire Stick -so totally recommend this.”

A second made the switch from an Android box but wasn’t pleased, writing: “No proper equivalents of Android apps, and those that are, are expensive. After several years of using an Android box, I wanted to try a Fire TV Stick, but it was a bad choice. Android boxes have a significant advantage with a selection of free apps.”

A third concluded: “Sound great, quality good, easy to set up, storage is a little naff if you’re into downloading stuff. Overall, it’s a value for money, and the remote is better than previous versions. Highly recommended.”

Elsewhere, Argos also has some tech deals on offer. For instance shoppers can save 20% on the Samsung Galaxy Tab A9 (worth £149) using the discount code RED20 at the checkout.

The tablet can run apps side by side, capture live with Screen Recording, and have App Continuity to let owners switch between devices. Elsewhere, Currys has £30 off this Garmin 5 Smart Watch—now £199 from £229.

The watch gives wearers personalised insights into their sleep, naps, stress levels and workouts. It also has an impressive 11 days of battery life in smartwatch mode, and up to 21 hours in GPS mode.

Back to Amazon’s sale, there’s also a reduction on the Fire TV Stick 4K Max, knocked down to £49.99, from £69.99. The tech giant describes the device as its ‘most powerful streaming stick’.

The powerful processor loads and streams with ease, while the picture and sound quality is touted as ‘lifelike’. The stick also has ‘Ambient Experience’, which displays more than 2,000 pieces of art and photography.

With more than 11,000 reviews, one customer said it has given their TV ‘a new life’. Praising its sound and picture quality, as well as its fast loading time.

The customer did have a gripe, adding: “The only downside is it requires another socket instead of being powered from the USB of the TV, but I have seen products on Amazon that convert the power to be sufficient from the TV USB too, so I might give them a try later.”

Shoppers can also find discounts on the Echo Dot (Newest gen), was £54.99, knocked down to £39.99. Built-in Alexa serves as a useful home assistant – ask iquestions, set timers, create shopping lists and reminders and check the weather.

Consumers can enjoy music, audiobooks, and podcasts from Amazon Music, Audible, Apple Music, Spotify and more. With more than 42,000 reviews, it’s arguably one of Amazon’s most popular devices.

One five-star reviewer wrote: “I didn’t expect to love this as much as I do, but the Echo Dot has seriously become my daily companion. I use it for everything—music, reminders, weather updates, even random questions.

“The sound is great for the size, and Alexa just makes life easier. Cute, smart, and super useful!” Another rated it three stars, after having trouble setting it up. They wrote: “Tricky to set up. Instructions are so so small print.”
