EDF to give away free air fryers to some customers

By staff24 October 2025No Comments3 Mins Read

The energy firm has confirmed that it will be running its Winter Warmer Shop scheme once again this year, which aims to support its most vulnerable customers

Some energy customers across the UK could soon be in line for a host of freebies, including a new air fryer. EDF has confirmed that it will be relaunching its Winter Warmer Shop scheme this year, aimed at supporting its most vulnerable customers.

This follows the energy firm’s announcement of a fresh wave of support for customers through its Customer Support Fund, part of a £30 million winter support package. The fund is designed to offer direct financial aid, providing debt relief to those customers who need it most.

Managed in partnership with Charis, the fund can provide customers with debt support via an agreed payment plan. If approved, this will also include the suspension of any debt activity.

Additionally, the Customer Support Fund can supply energy-efficient appliances to replace old or broken models, helping to reduce an applicant’s energy bills. Certain customers may also be able to apply for bundles of smaller products to help keep them warm throughout the colder months via the Customer Support Fund if they can’t do so through the Winter Warmer Shop.

Full list of freebies you can get from EDF

EDF has confirmed that eligible customers will be able to get the following through the Winter Warmer Shop scheme:

  • Kettles
  • Air fryers
  • Slow cookers
  • Energy vouchers

How to apply

EDF has clarified that customers cannot directly apply to the Winter Warmer Shop, unlike many other support schemes. Instead, EDF will identify eligible customers and reach out to them between November and February.

If a customer is contacted, they can expect to receive a link which will guide them to choose the support that best suits their needs. The energy firm also stated it will continue to identify eligible customers and offer them support if they request additional help during the winter months.

Other support available from EDF

If customers aren’t contacted by EDF for the Winter Warmer Shop, but believe they could still qualify for extra assistance, there are several other schemes and support options available. This includes the previously mentioned Customer Support Fund, which is currently accepting applications online.

Customers can also receive additional support from EDF through the Priority Services Register (PSR). This register is a free UK-wide service that provides customers with extra advice and support, particularly when there’s a disruption to the gas or electricity supply.

EDF is encouraging customers to join the PSR and inform them of any essential medical equipment that requires an uninterrupted power supply, ensuring their safety. They have assured that customers who join the PSR through them will have their separate electricity supplier, gas transporter and water supplier informed of their needs, providing support in case of a power outage.

You can join the PSR on EDF’s website here.
