EE will pay you £300 to switch from Virgin Media and Sky broadband as April price hikes loom

By staff26 March 2025No Comments4 Mins Read

The broadband experts are paying consumers to ditch their old internet providers – as they pick up the exit fee but its conditions are strict

If your bills are about to go up in April but you’re worried about paying extra per month to scroll on social media and enjoy Netflix – EE has a tempting offer broadband offer to consider. The broadband provider, who recently took over from BT, is paying customers up to £300 to switch internet providers.

From £26.99 a month, shoppers can get a speedy package for the price- and if you’ve noticed your bills going up in April, EE will pay you to switch over and save money at the same time. Each year UK providers – including broadband, mobile and TV, up their price to fit in line with inflation.

Now EE is offering up to £300 to new customers if they switch from an older provider. Once shoppers have bought a new EE Broadband, they need to email the final bill from your old supplier to the [email protected], along with their EE order number.

For claims to be successful, EE says the final bill should clearly show the itemised leaving fees. Once EE has received the bill and validated the leaving fees, EE will apply the switch discount to shoppers’ next EE bill. You’ll get an email to let you know if your claim has been successful.

If broadband is what you are looking for, you can look at the likes of Hyperoptic, which offers very cheap prices. Hyperoptic is currently offering three months free for certain households on all of its bundles including 50MB all the way to 1GB – meaning you won’t need to worry about paying a penny for a while. There’s also Virgin Media that you can consider if you can get the coverage.

Here’s a rundown of all the broadband packages you can get your hands on:

  • Fibre Plus: 74Mbps download, 18Mbps upload

  • Full Fibre Max 100: 100Mbps download, 28Mbps upload

  • Full Fibre Max 500: 500Mbps download, 48Mbps upload

  • Full Fibre Max Gigabit: 900Mbps download, 48Mbps upload

  • Full Fibre 1.6Gbps: 1,600Mbps download, 115Mbps upload

When it comes to broadband, EE will also send over its Smart Hub Plus. It’s designed to work with speeds over 1Gbps, it’s easy to set up and packed full of features. It uses smart tech to give you a more stable connection that reaches further around your home.

With the EE app users can manage the devices on your network, pause your WiFi, turn on parental controls and much more.

When it comes to reviews, uSwitch has given EE broadband an almost full score when it comes to reliability and internet speed. The reviewer said: “EE has given me the most reliable, consistent broadband connection I’ve ever had. Despite my Wi-Fi being slower in certain areas of the house, even that internet speed is fast enough for me to do basic online tasks without any issues.

“I used to be on a cable broadband connection that promised much faster speeds than my current EE package. But I only occasionally got to enjoy those speeds because the internet was constantly cutting out – whether it was due to an outage or just generally poor connection strength on my line.”

However, the reviewer noted that they didn’t always get the speeds that were advertised. They added: “Despite my advertised download speeds of 145Mbps, I rarely ever see this speed at home. While this might sometimes be when I’m using my device in a different room of my home, I hardly see 145Mbps even when I test my speed right next to my router.”
