With the cold weather drawing in and energy prices still high, many shoppers are looking out for ways they can stay warm without central heating costs. An electric bedsheet can be a great way to do so, warming the body rather than warming the whole house, and there’s a deal where buyers can get one for £18 less.

Over at Yimbly, which is owned by the Mirror’s parent company Reach Plc, the Livivo Electric Under Blanket is now £26.99 down from £44.99 in double size. Also available in single (£19.99 down from £39.99) and king (£29.99 down from £49.99) sizes, it’s designed to sit under the bed’s fitted sheet to preheat the bed for a cosy night’s sleep.

It has three temperature settings – 25, 35 and 55 degrees Celcius – and according to Yimbly, experts recommend a bedroom temperature of 18-21 degrees for a great night’s sleep. According to the brand, it costs as little as 1p per hour to run, which could make it a great alternative to central heating.

There are plenty of other electric warmers out there to choose from. For example, Argos has the Silentnight Comfort Control Electric Underblanket for £35 for single size, which also pre-heats the bed and has easy-fit straps to keep it secure.

Alternatively, for a snuggly blanket that can be used around the house, there’s the Electric Heated Blanket Throw for £29.95 at Amazon. This one is nice and big, measuring 120cm by 160cm, has an automatic shut-off safety function, and is machine washable up to 40 degrees.

Shoppers who have bought the Livivo Electric Under Blanket from Yimbly have left rave reviews. One buyer said: “Absolutely love it, so cosy and warm, I look forward to going to bed.”

Another said: “I think it’s good and useful, price wise is reasonable.” A third added: “Very pleased with purchase and delivery was very good.”

However, some shoppers had some reservations. One said as part of a longer review: “Great looking, was looking forward to using then (found out it was) not to be used with an adjustable bed.”

Another said: “Would have given it five stars but it arrived with the middle support tie missing. This does not affect the blanket heating so kept it.”
