Ellen DeGeneres, who now lives in the U.K. with wife Portia de Rossi, took to social media over the weekend to share a look at her new British abode and unveiled her new hair color
It seems American comedian Ellen DeGeneres has settled into life in England nicely and looks happier than ever. The former talk show host is rocking a drastically different look to suit her new lifestyle.
The saying goes that blondes have more fun, but Ellen, 67, is still all smiles since ditching her platinum blonde tresses and embracing a darker hair colour.
The former talk show host, 67, who relocated to the UK following Donald Trump’s presidential win in November last year, took to Instagram over the weekend to share her experience of mowing the grass.
Ellen and her wife Portia de Rossi recently moved to a different property near Oxfordshire after their Cotswolds home was severely flooded shortly after they moved in.
In the video, Ellen can be seen sitting atop a yellow mower, revealing that she has swapped her signature blonde hair for a brunette shade.
She is seen navigating the mower through a large field under a sky filled with grey clouds. The clip, captioned ‘How it started’, then cuts to Ellen being helped by someone after the mower appears to break down on a steep hill.
The video ends with the text ‘How it ended’ appearing on screen. Ellen wrote in the caption: “Portia thought it would be fun to film my first time on the mower. She was right.”
In January, former Top Gear presenter Jeremy Clarkson revealed Ellen and her wife often pop into his Oxfordshire watering hole, The Farmer’s Dog. Jeremy let slip that Ellen, who’d recently made a move to the UK, has graced his pub with her presence.
“She lives in the village where our pub is. Absolutely I welcome them all,” Clarkson remarked. “Everyone said she has been cancelled but she seemed nice when she came to the pub, the staff said she was very friendly and lovely. I am not going to believe what I read online. She seemed lovely.”
This revelation came as Ellen swapped her US lifestyle for the quaint charm of The Cotswolds, amidst being ‘cancelled’ and the tumultuous reign of Donald Trump – whose presidency began again at the start of the year.
A source confided to the Daily Mail: “With all the ill will towards her, she was looking to move away even before the election. And as things panned out with Trump winning, she is glad she is making the move and going to be away from the US.
“She has the one person that still loves her, Portia, and she is ready to leave everyone who in her mind left her hanging out to dry. If she considers it her retirement, so be it.”
