Emma Raducanu’s prize money compared to Aryna Sabalenka’s says a lot as record to shatter

By staff15 October 2025No Comments3 Mins Read

Aryna Sabalenka is the highest-earning player on the WTA Tour this year, with Emma Raducanu the leading Brit, though she is several million behind the world number one’s total prize money for 2025

Aryna Sabalenka is leading Emma Raducanu in the WTA prize money rankings by a whopping £8million as the tennis season draws to a close. The world number one has earned a total of £9.2million as of 13 October, leaving Britain’s best player trailing in 33rd place with winnings of around £1.1million so far this year.

Sabalenka also holds a comfortable lead of over £2million on second-place Iga Swiatek (£7million). There is a similar gap between her and third-placed Coco Gauff (£5.4million).

Amanda Anisimova sits in a distant fourth place with £4.6 million, followed by a cluster of four players each earning between £3million and £4million.

That group consists of Jasmine Paolini (£3.54million), Mirraa Andreeva (£3.46million), Jessica Pegula (£3.14million) and Madison Keys (£3.04million).

Raducanu is the only Brit to have broken the £1m mark. Sonay Kartal came closest, landing her in 51st place at nearly £850,000.

Despite a season plagued with fewer injuries, the 22-year-old’s bank balance pales in comparison to Sabalenka, who had to pull out all the stops to defeat her at Wimbledon earlier this year, and other top earners in terms of prize money.

It shows that, while Raducanu has made some steps forward, she remains off the pace when it comes to the top challengers.

Meanwhile, Katie Boulter is the only other player to rank within the top 100, sitting at 70th place with just shy of £700,000. That marks a role reversal from last year, when Boulter led the Brits at 45th place with just over £900,000.

Raducanu was further down the list at 88th, just one spot above Harriet Dart, after both pocketed the best part of half a million pounds. Dart, currently ranked 129th this year, has bagged approximately £300,000 in winnings.

Olivia Nicholls (114th with nearly £370,000) and Jodie Burrage (120th with just over £350,000) are the two other Brits ahead of Dart so far this year.

Meanwhile, at the top of the rankings, Sabalenka has already surpassed last year’s earnings of £7.3million. She is also on track to set a new record for the highest earnings in a single season.

The current record holder is Serena Williams, who earned £9.24million in 2013. However, Sabalenka is hot on her heels this year with earnings of £9.19million.

She seems due to break the record during next month’s WTA Finals. Sabalenka, Swiatek, Gauff, Anisimova, Pegula and Keys have already qualified, with Andreeva, Paolini and Elena Rybakina vying for the remaining two spots.
