Emmerdale star Lawrence Robb is reportedly in a new relationship, with the couple believed to have headed abroad after ‘quietly’ splitting from his long-term partner Joanne Thomson
The identity of actor Lawrence Robb’s secret girlfriend appears to have been revealed. The Emmerdale star, who plays Mackenzie Boyd on the long-running ITV soap, is said to have “quietly” split with his ex, Joanne Thomson.
Now, the Scottish actor is thought to have embarked on a new relationship, with fans recently speculating who it was. It’s reported Lawrence is currently dating West End actress Pamela Blair. She is currently appearing in the hit version of The Devil Wears Prada: The Musical, but it’s thought the duo recently spent time together in Antigua.
On a social media post, he shared of himself, showing a hint of Pamela’s tattooed arm. The upload had fans wondering if he wasn’t alone. But Lawrence and Pamela also recently made their red carpet debut together at the Scottish BAFTAs.
A source claimed the pair first met following his split from Joanna and “hit it off”. The insider told The Sun: “They’ve attended industry events together and been on some lovely travels together.
“They decided to keep things very private and lowkey. He’s a very private person and some fans can be a bit much and can’t separate their feelings about his character from him so there’s a balance to be struck.”
Lawrence joined the soap in 2020. His character is known for his womanising ways, however his life away from the soap as a lot different.
He was in a long-term relationship with actress, writer, and director Joanne. Glasgow-born Joanne has previously appeared in a number of critically acclaimed TV dramas, including Outlander, BAFTA award-winning The Suffragettes, and ITV’s BAFTA-nominated In Plain Sight, which won her two Best Actress nominations at the IARA awards.
Lawrence studied musical theatre at university. As well as Emmerdale, the actor has previously appeared in roles in the acclaimed dark comedy-drama I Hate Suzie (2020) and detective film The Trouble Downstairs (2014).
While he is currently best known for his acting, Lawrence regularly impresses his social media followers by sharing covers of classic tracks via Instagram.
In June 2020, he shared video that showed him singing Ben E. King’s Stand By Me while he was playing the piano. He amazed fans with his vocal talents at the time, leading to one person commenting: “Oh my, you’re very talented in music. You’ll have to play that in the Wooly to Charity!”
Another applauded: “Didn’t know you could sing and play piano as well as act. Absolutely amazing.”
