Erdington fire LIVE: Birmingham locals told ‘shut windows’ as huge blaze rages

A large fire has broken out in Birmingham, with a huge plume of smoke seen rising above the area.

Around 60 firefighters rushed to Tyburn Road to deal with the incident, which was reported West Midlands Fire Service shortly before 5pm. Local residents have been urged to keep their doors and windows closed.

West Midlands Fire Service said: “WMFS are currently dealing with a large incident on Tyburn Road in Erdington. Approximately 60 firefighters are currently in attendance. Local residents are advised to keep doors and windows shut.”
