Evil mum ‘stole’ son’s blood and left starving kids naked outside in house of horrors

An evil mum jailed for “stealing” her nine-year-old son’s blood to treat a fake illness forced the child to wear a neck brace for two years – and raked in thousands of pounds for his non-existent condition.

Jordan Borders, 34, was sentenced to 39 years in prison last week at Minnesota’s Crow Wing County District Court after she was convicted of torturing her three children.

The mum had self-diagnosed two of her kids with brittle bone disease despite both of them being healthy. Over a period of three years, medics at different hospitals suspected the mum was guilty of abuse after the children began to have unexplained health problems.

It started after her nine-year-old son experienced a sudden drop in his hemoglobin levels. However, when test results failed to diagnose a condition, doctors began to believe Borders was fabricating the illness. It comes after a ‘fake nurse’ treated 4,000 patients before a huge error exposed her ‘disturbing lies.’

The mum accused the hospital of taking too much blood from her son. But just weeks later, her eight-year-old girl and 11-year-old boy told officers they would watch their mum take blood from their brother.

The victim told police that his mum would often extract blood, which made him feel “sick-sleepy.” Police also discovered she was treating her two other children for fake illnesses.

Twisted Borders had wrongly diagnosed the children with brittle bone disease, forcing them to wear neck braces and casts, which were reportedly stolen from a doctor’s office.

According to prosecutors, the 11-year-old boy was forced to wear casts for two years. Police also discovered syringes at the family home. During the horrific trial, the children detailed the abuse they would face from the evil parent.

She would allegedly make them stand outside in the freezing weather with no clothes on, starve their siblings, and often threaten them.

The nine-year-old boy confessed he was told to stay in a wheelchair whenever his dad came over to visit and had to sleep on the floor.

Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison said: “Borders’ crimes are some of the most heinous and agonising I have seen in my time as attorney general. The facts we proved in court are nothing short of horrifying.

“It strains the imagination and breaks my heart into pieces to think about the torture and anguish – physical, mental, and emotional – that Borders inflicted on her own children.”

Borders also pulled in over £14,000 a month from the state and £27,000 from non-profit organisations by faking her son’s condition.

Judge Patricia Aanes slammed the mum and said she had acted with “particular cruelty”.

Borders was convicted in June of attempted first-degree murder and three counts of child torture, along with three counts of stalking and four counts of theft by false representation.
