Evri driver fired after ‘angry, obnoxious, and vulgar’ rant caught on camera

By staff22 October 2025No Comments2 Mins Read

WARNING: This story contains language some may find upsetting

A delivery driver was caught on camera hurling packages containing glassware and shouting obscenities at a homeowner and his dogs. The shocking footage was captured by police officer Matt Whitehead, 46, who received an alert from his doorbell camera.

In the video, the Evri worker can be seen tossing a parcel that contained a mirror, while using foul language to refer to the homeowners. The man is also heard yelling obscenities at Mr Whitehead’s dogs, which were safely inside his Didsbury home.

A week later, another video showed the same man carelessly throwing fragile glassware into the porch. Mr Whitehead described the driver as “abusive” and said he had been reported by neighbours for being “rude” on multiple occasions.

He explained: “I checked the footage as I get an alert if anyone approaches the front door. As I work shifts, it becomes a pain should a delivery get diverted so it’s easier to speak to the delivery drivers over the intercom. On both of these occasions, the delivery had occurred before I checked my phone.

“His behaviour is clearly angry, obnoxious, and vulgar and I wasn’t even present. Should he present like this to someone who is in and vulnerable, I’d imagine that they’d feel intimidated.

The videos, recorded on Mr Whitehead’s Ring camera, show the driver delivering parcels on different days – one on October 3 and the other on October 9, when no one was home.

“From his behaviour, I expected maybe a fox could have upturned a bin or something had fallen down in the porch but when I returned home, everything was tidy,” he said.

In response to this incident, Evri confirmed that the driver had been dismissed. The company stated: “Customer satisfaction is at the heart of everything we do, and we’re disappointed to see a driver acting in this manner. It is not representative of our 30,000 couriers and we have apologised to the customer.

“We have a zero-tolerance policy towards this behaviour and the driver will no longer be delivering for us. “.
