Fitbit users have flooded social media with complaints after the beloved health app encountered a glitch this afternoon. Downdetector has noted that a significant number of UK users are facing issues today.

On social media, Fitbit acknowledged they are swamped with messages from users receiving an error notification – yet customers grumbled about the lack of updates.

One user expressed their frustration on X, “@FitbitSupport why isn’t this being communicated to users experiencing your known issue from this account? #fitbitdown.”

Sea Creature chimed in: “Something is wrong with the fitbit app. I did all kinds of troubleshooting, and now I can’t even sign in.”

Mathew commented: “It looks like I’m not the only one who’s having troubles with their Fitbit app and syncing and all even signing into their account using Google hack it turns out it there is an outage going on.#Fitbit #fitbitoutage.”, reports the Express.

Cassian vented: “@FitbitSupport it’s unbelievable there’s an outage? ! The data on my watch should be able to sync with my phone! If I can’t depend on Fitbit to be consistent at this stage in the game then it’s time to look elsewhere.”

Bill Beers added his voice: “@FitbitSupport Seems downdetector indicates you have a widespread problem with users starting off failing to sync, following troubleshooting steps eventually leading to uninstalling/reinstalling the fitbit app and getting login failure. Please update the community here.”

Responding to a customer’s query, Fitbit advised: “Thank you for providing the information and for trying the troubleshooting steps. We are receiving a number of similar reports concerning this specific error message, and we have reported the issue to our team for further investigation.”

They added, “In the meantime, I recommend that you try to log in to your Fitbit account and sync your device later today. Your cooperation and patience during this process are greatly appreciated as we work to resolve this issue as quickly as possible. If you have any further questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to reach out.”

The official Fitbit online status page acknowledged a ‘major outage’ was underway.
