TriOn Pharma has pulled its Aactive D3 Drops and Aactive D3 Solution because of the labelling error and is urging customers not to consume these products
Two food supplements have been urgently recalled because they contain higher levels of vitamin D3 than written on the label.
TriOn Pharma has pulled its Aactive D3 Drops and Aactive D3 Solution because of the labelling error. Too much vitamin D can cause nausea, vomiting, weakness, lethargy, constipation, aches and pains, thirst, polyuria, weight loss and cardiac dysrhythmias, which is an abnormal heartbeat.
The batch code for the drops is LS23317 and the batch code for the solution is LS23318. Both products included in the recall have a best before date of November 2025. The batch code and best before date can be found on the outer box and the bottle label.
If you have purchased one of the affected products, you are advised not to consume it and instead, return it to your nearest store for a full refund. For more information, you can contact TriOn Pharma on 02392 255770 or [email protected].
TriOn Pharma said in a recall notice published online: “TriOn Pharma is recalling specific batches of Aactive 0 3 2000 iu/ml after retesting showed out of specification results in the assay. The listed batches are being recalled as a precautionary measure. No other batches are impacted.”
For all product recalls, you can check the Food Standards Agency and Chartered Trading Standards Institute websites. You should also notice recall notices in stores if they’ve pulled a product from shelves. Other recalls you should be aware of include Tesco pulling packs of meat after an incorrect use-by date was used.
The warning relates to Tesco own-brand packs of ten cooked beef slices with a use-by date of January 24, 2025. This product, which comes in a 125g pack and costs £1.45, was labelled incorrectly – the correct use-by date is actually December 24, 2025.
Meanwhile, Aldi recalled its Let’s Party Vegetable Bao Buns because they may contain sesame, which is not mentioned on the label. This means they could be a health risk to anyone who is allergic to sesame. The bao buns may also contain duck meat, which is also not listed on the packaging. The bao bans have the barcode number: 4061463842909.
The Co-op has also pulled its Co-op Irresistible Luxury Lasagne Al Forno because of undeclared mustard and sulphites. This means the product is a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy to mustard, sulphur dioxide or sulphites. The use by date included in the recall is November 17, 2024 – all other dates have been cleared as safe to eat.
