Brits are known for several British staples such as fish and chips, roast dinners and Full English breakfasts. However, one person from overseas who was trying out the cuisine was left less than impressed by their meal that their cousin from the UK served them.

The person, known as Sosa, took to X to share a photo of the meal in question, which was a battered sausage, chips and mushy peas. And people left shocked by the peas in particular, as many were shocked by their vibrant green colour. Sosa captioned the photo: “My British cousin just made me this…”

Some said the dish looked ‘inedible’, while others said the peas looked like could be melted plastic.

One person asked: “Is it radioactive?,” while another added: “I wouldn’t eat that.”

A third chimed in: “I ain’t eating that green thing,” while someone else said: “Pretty sure that’s just melted plastic on the plate.”

Someone else also exclaimed: “The peas look like someone melted the green soldiers from Toy Story,” while another agreed: “Melted soldiers from Toy Story.”

Even some Brits were taken aback by the meal, as one UK citizen said: “Even as a Brit I don’t f**k with this.”

Meanwhile another Brit guessed the meal hadn’t been cooked by their cousin and had come from a fish and chip shop instead, as they wrote: “Definitely didn’t make it unless he’s a cook in a chippy.”

Despite the shock over the colour of the peas, some people admitted they would still eat it.

Many people often document themselves trying food while in another country these days, including one American who recently tried a British roast dinner for the first time.

AJ Slambino had a full roast including all the trimmings and even pigs in blankets. However, he was put off by the mint sauce on his plate as he slammed the “vinegar taste” of it.
