Football legends and TV icons come together to raise eyewatering sum for new charity

By staff23 October 2025No Comments2 Mins Read

The event, which was held in partnership with RWInvest, Sal Group, Vita Group, 18rec and Maclec, marked the official launch of the Legacie Foundation – a new charitable arm dedicated to supporting local community, education and social projects.

Liverpool was a city of sparkle, style and selflessness as actor and comedian John Thomson, famed for his role in Cold Feet, hosted a star-studded charity gala that raised an astonishing £250,000 for causes across the North West.

The event, masterminded by John Morley, CEO of Liverpool-based developer Legacie, marked the official unveiling of the Legacie Foundation – a fresh charitable branch committed to backing local community, education and social projects.

Liverpool FC legend Ian Rush, Wrexham ace Conor Coady and ex-Reds striker Fabio Borini were among the celebrities present, rubbing shoulders with key figures from the city’s business sector for a memorable night of entertainment and fundraising.

Guests were treated to a special live performance by 90s legends The Lightning Seeds, adding to the electric atmosphere inside the venue. Legacie CEO John Morley stated: “I’m really proud that we’ve been able to support amazing organisations like Alder Hey, the LFC Foundation, and The Inclusive Hub.

“The money raised by Legacie and our fantastic partners is going to make a huge difference to people right across our communities. Nights like this show what can happen when everyone comes together to give something back. This is just the beginning for the work of the Legacie Foundation. It is deeply important to us as a business to give back to the communities in which we work.”

The event was organised in collaboration with RWInvest, Sal Group, Vita Group, 18rec and Maclec.
