If you are feeling a little bit lazy but still need to get your house clean and fresh, try out these four super simple cleaning hacks that will easily help you get your place spotless
Some days we just don’t have as much energy as we might like. After struggling through a long week at work, all whilst balancing your family responsibilities, and trying to squeeze in a social life, doing a freshen-up of your home can sometimes feel daunting, and like the kind of task you are just too tired to do properly.
If you find yourself feeling sluggish and a little lazy, then these four cleaning hacks are made for you – and will help you stay on top of your cleaning to-do list with minimal, and we mean minimal, effort.
These life hacks were posted by New York City-based content creator Caroline – who has over 300,000 followers on her TikTok @neat.caroline for a reason. The video wracked up thousands of likes because it turns out that a lot of us want clean, sparkling homes with minimal effort.
The first hack the home expert recommends will involve a tiny bit of daily effort, that will make a huge difference to your bathroom and will minimise any deep cleans you have to attend to. “Keep a squeegee in the shower to prevent soap scum buildup,” Caroline recommends. All you need to do is give the walls of your shower a swipe with one of these once you are done washing and any stains or marks from soap or limescale will be banished – all without you having to do any labour-intensive scrubbing.
Next, Caroline recommends another game-changing shower tip. If you live in a hard water area, then limescale stains will accumulate on your showerhead, and they can be difficult to remove after building up, especially if your showerhead is fixed to the ceiling. The content creator’s expert tip for this one will eliminate limescale, with basically zero effort from you. To “remove hard-water stains from your showerhead, use a vinegar-soaked paper towel and keep it there overnight.” Caroline reveals she previously used to use a bag, but is impressed with the results from a paper towel – and in the video her showerhead was totally gleaming once she had removed the towel after a night’s soaking.
Thirdly, the expert advises that you “line your fridge drawers with paper towels so you can easily pick up stray crumbs and spills” from your food produce or any leaking liquids, saving you time and effort.
Finally, Caroline has a super easy top tip for keeping your sink gleaming: “Use a left over lemon half and some salt to clean the inside of your sink” – she showed herself using half a cut lemon covered in salt to directly clean her sink, before thoroughly rinsing it out and the results were immaculate.
