The inside scoop on Chelsea legend Frank Lampard, including his significant net worth, relationship with TV presenter wife Christine and current managerial success
Frank Lampard is a legend in the world of football, celebrated for his remarkable career with Chelsea where he bagged numerous honours including the Premier League and Champions League titles. He also shone on the international stage, netting 29 goals in 106 appearances for England.
His journey into management has seen highs and lows, with stints at Derby County, two spells at Chelsea, Everton and now Coventry City. Unlike his former England team-mates Steven Gerrard and Wayne Rooney, Lampard continues to work as a head coach.
The 47-year-old is currently enjoying a resurgence in his managerial career with the Sky Blues flying high at the top of the Championship table. Coventry are set to travel to newly-promoted Wrexham for their next second tier fixture on Friday night in front of the Sky Sports cameras.
The Welsh side, co-owned by Hollywood stars Ryan Reynolds and Rob Mac, are no strangers to hosting high-profile visitors at the Racecourse Ground. However, the prospect of facing Lampard’s Coventry will be a daunting one for the Red Dragons, who are 16th in the standings, whereas Coventry head into the game after registering six league wins in a row and have already scored 34 goals in their opening 12 matches.
Meanwhile, Lampard has built up a substantial fortune over the years, some of which he’s splashed out on a luxurious home that he shares with his TV presenter wife Christine and their children. Here’s the inside scoop on his wealth, relationship with Christine and how he’s breathed new life into his managerial career…

What is Frank Lampard’s net worth?
Celebrity Net Worth estimates Lampard’s fortune to be around £75million, with Christine a millionaire in her own right from her successful TV career. The site also suggests he was earning an annual salary of £9.6million during his time at Everton, although this figure hasn’t been officially confirmed.
According to sports-focused website Total Sportal, Lampard’s contract with Everton was worth £15million, inclusive of a signing bonus and various other incentives, many of which weren’t realised as he was sacked by the Toffees in January 2023. He briefly returned to Chelsea at the end of the 2022/23 season for a presumably well-paid but unsuccessful stint as interim manager.
When did Frank Lampard meet Christine?
There was a touch of fate about Frank and Christine’s romance blossoming. The pair initially crossed paths back in October 2009 at the Pride of Britain awards.
Christine, who still had the surname Bleakley at the time, nearly missed the glittering ceremony altogether as she’d just finished presenting The One Show. Reflecting on meeting her husband during an appearance on Loose Women, she said: “I am very, very glad we met when we did, it was definitely about timing for us.”
It emerged that Lampard was actually a devoted viewer of the BBC programme she fronted alongside Adrian Chiles, though Christine remained sceptical initially. She previously revealed: “Frank came over to me and said, ‘I watch you on The One Show.’
“I said, ‘No you don’t. Who was my guest last night?’ And he was able to tell me. There was an awkward introduction at the party afterwards. I just laughed and we both giggled about it.
“Then that was it. He somehow got my number, and I had a withheld number call my phone on the way home. I picked up and it was him. I said, ‘Wow, you’re keen,’ as a bit of a joke, and we chatted. He said he enjoyed meeting me and would like to stay in touch. It was very relaxed.”
The couple wed in 2015 and share two children, Patricia and Freddie. Patricia bears the name of Frank’s beloved late mother. He’s also dad to two older daughters from his former relationship with Elen Rivas – Luna and Isla.
Where does Frank Lampard live?
The Lampards call a magnificent £10million London mansion their home. During one Loose Women episode, Christine offered viewers a peek into their domestic life.
She disclosed that she has her very own “she shed” in the garden where she retreats to find some peace and quiet. She said: “It’s tiny but I walked into it the other day and thought, ‘This could be a good hiding place,’ even just a little five minutes.”
How did a family tragedy impact Frank Lampard’s life?
In April 2008, Lampard suffered a devastating family tragedy when his mother Pat died at the age of 58. Having been admitted to hospital with pneumonia, she went into intensive care for a “week-long process,” but while it looked as though she was improving, she suffered a brain haemorrhage and passed away leaving her family in shock.
The Chelsea star, who was 29 at the time, was left heartbroken by the tragedy and broke down in tears on the pitch just days later as he scored to send the Blues through to the Champions League final for the first time. He went on to dedicate many of his career successes to his mum, who he described as his “best friend.”
Lampard told the Diary of a CEO podcast that his mum was “everything” to him and, on reflection, wonders if he should have walked away from football following the tragedy.
“If I look back I think, ‘Maybe I should’ve come out of [football], life is bigger than that,’ but it was probably a tiny coping mechanism for me. We played a game against Liverpool, the second leg, and I scored a penalty, we’d won the game and now we’re getting sent to the Champions League final.
“I remember sitting in the dressing room afterwards and I had this almighty sense of fatigue, body and mental fatigue. I went home and opened a beer, couldn’t even drink it and went to bed, and everything came out of me then, it was like a week or two full-blast of this complete pain.
“The feeling of grief, it catches up with me now and again many years later. I think I probably had a year where I was single, drinking a little bit but I was playing fantastic football, I had a really good year of football, it was weird. Then I met Christine and thank God she came along around at that time, because I was a little bit not right.”
Who does Frank Lampard manage?
Lampard has rejuvenated both Coventry and his own coaching prospects in the Championship. He faced a daunting challenge in succeeding club icon Mark Robins, who had steered the Sky Blues from the fourth tier to the edge of the Premier League.
Lampard was already familiar with the second tier, having steered Derby to the play-off final in 2019. And he has utilised that knowledge effectively by propelling Coventry to top of the table heading into Friday’s game against Wrexham, having lost in the play-off semi-finals last season.
Speaking before the match, Lampard said: “We have to analyse the opposition and understand how dangerous every game is in its own way. Wrexham have gone away and got some good results this season already against good teams in the league. We just have to focus on ourselves and give our best.”
