Amazon has just released a blockbuster free upgrade that may convince you to ditch your Fire TV Stick.

Despite some new rivals being unveiled, Amazon’s Fire TV Stick range still rules the roost when it comes to streaming. These hugely popular gadgets offer a simple way to turn older TVs into something smarter, thanks to full access to apps such as Netflix, Disney+ and Apple TV+. With a low price and plenty of features, they are tough to beat, but it seems those wanting the ultimate Amazon experience might want to switch to something different.

It’s just been confirmed that the online retailer giant has released a blockbuster upgrade to its latest Fire OS-powered Omni Mini-LED Series televisions. These more premium screens already offer 4K visuals, Dolby Vision technology, impressive sound, hands-free access to Alexa and gaming mode. Now they are getting even better.

The first free change from Amazon brings a feature called Interactive Art to homes. This upgrades the already popular Ambient Experience which transforms the display into stunning artwork when the TV isn’t being used.

Interactive Art adds even more functionality with Omni Mini-LED owners able to choose from more than 10 clever interactive scenes that transform as users move around the room.

Amazon says its high-fidelity radar sensor – which is included in the televisions – then makes the scenes come to life in response to movement in front of it. At launch there are scenes including fluttering butterflies, swimming koi fish, and colourful tiles.

If you happen to already own a Omni Mini-LED Series TV then it’s easy to give this upgrade a try,

To select your Interactive Art background, Amazon says you simply need to ask Alexa to go to the Ambient Experience and click the Interactive Art tile.

Amazon boasts that Interactive Art now joins Fire TV’s growing collection of more than 2,000 free, gallery-quality images available within the Ambient Experience.

“Interactive Art is now available on the Fire TV Omni Mini-LED Series,” Amazon has confirmed on its webiste.

“With this new feature, your TV screen becomes a dynamic art piece that comes to life as you move in front of it. To get started, ask Alexa to open the Ambient Experience and select the Interactive Art tile.”

So what else is new?

The next boost offers good news for anyone who is hard of hearing.

Amazon says it is now introducing a function called Dual Audio, which is aimed at making its Fire TV more inclusive and accessible

Dual Audio allows customers who use hearing aids to stream programming simultaneously alongside friends and family. The high-quality audio is delivered directly to their hearing aids while other viewers listen to the TV’s built-in speakers.

To pair a compatible hearing aid, customers can navigate to Settings from the home screen and click on the Accessibility menu. Dual Audio is now available in all countries where Fire TV Omni Mini-LED Series is available with the latest software update.
