A Yorkshire pudding recipe has gone viral on TikTok after a food expert shared how to make the perfect batter mix – and it only takes 15-minutes in the air fryer
When it comes to roast dinners, Yorkshire puddings are a must-have for many Brits – but achieving the perfect rise can be a challenge.
These golden delights are often found on Christmas Day tables, even though they’re not traditionally part of the festive feast. In fact, a 2016 YouGov survey revealed that 47 percent of people would choose a Yorkshire pudding on December 25. A food expert has now revealed the secret to consistently high puds – and it only takes 15 minutes in an air fryer.
Air Fryer Girl UK, who regularly posts recipe hacks on her TikTok page, shared how she creates a flawless batter mixture that serves six. The social media star began her viral video with footage of the risen puddings, which were impressively golden and crispy.
She then shared her simple recipe. To make these fluffy treats, combine flour and eggs in a bowl and gradually mix in the milk. Keep beating until the mixture is completely smooth. Next, add a drop of oil to the baking tins and preheat them in the air fryer at 220°C for five minutes.
Once preheated, add the mixture to the baking tins and air fry for 15 minutes at 190°C. The Yorkshire puddings should come out perfectly puffed up, golden, and crispy. Best of all, these baked beauties can be served immediately.
Fans swarmed the comments section to dish out their thoughts on the nifty cooking trick, with one user exclaiming: “Thanks, I made these tonight, they were soooooooooo good!!!” Another was full of praise saying: “How has this not blown up yet!! They look SO good, when are you trying toad in the hole ggirllll??”
Amid the compliments, a third fan shared their own experience: “I done these with a roast today, absolute game changer, so simple. Would be great with the dehydrated beef.” Meanwhile, a fourth sought advice: “So I tried Yorkshire pudding in the air fryer before and they just smoked the whole house out from all the oil, how can I stop this?”
In response, a well-meaning commentator advised: “You might have had an oil with a low smoke point, like olive oil? I’d use avocado, canola or sunflower oil.” Echoing the sentiment, Air Fryer Girl UK chimed in with her seal of approval: “Agree. I use sunflower oil.”
