A gardening expert has shared which five summer annuals gardeners should plant right now if they want their garden immediately bursting with colour.
Tom Strowgler, who has more than 200,000 followers on Instagram, says there are a huge number of summer annuals to choose from but these are the expert’s picks.
He told The Express: “The summer annual garden-ready plugs arrive with me at this time of year, and I start to plant them into the pots, beds and borders. There are so many summer annuals to pick from, including gazania, petunia, impatiens, verbena quartz and snapdragon, to name but a few.
“The garden-ready plugs mean we can plant our favourite summer annuals straight into the compost in a pot and the soil of our beds and borders. This time of year is about a mass of bright colours. The more floral colour in the pots, beds and borders, the more summertime will feel like a celebration every day in the garden.
