Christian and Geri Horner’s bank balance is set to be boosted by a £80million injection but it’s fair to say the already-loaded couple aren’t exactly struggling as it is
Christian Horner’s reported £80million Red Bull pay off has only topped up his and wife Geri’s already incredibly large pot.
Christian was removed as the chief executive and team principal of their main Formula 1 team in July after 20 years at the helm – and they must pay him an eye-watering sum as a result. He will be well-compensated for having his contract, which was to run until 2030, suddenly ripped up.
Reports are rife that he will received more than £80m as part of the settlement deal that has been struck between the two parties behind closed doors. For most, the mega windfall would change their life but for the racing mogul and Spice Girl wife Geri it is simply a nice addition to what they have already got.

Out of all the F1 teams, Horner was the longest serving and highest paid team principal in the paddock. According to The Times, in 2024, Red Bull Technology Ltd accounts stated that Horner’s salary had increased from £8.04million in 2022 to £8.92m in 2023, representing an 11% increase.
This huge salary coupled with other business interests including two country homes in Oxfordshire and Hertfordshire, saw him boast an estimated net worth of around £41.4m. Between them, the couple were already worth around £440million – and that’s before his compo comes in.
Horner’s journey in motorsport initially began as a driver, where he enjoyed some success and even became a race-winner with British Formula Renault in the late 1990s. He hung up his racing gloves in 1998, when he was only 25 years old. He then delved into team management, becoming the head of International Formula 3000 squad Arden International, which he helped launch back in 1997. In 2005, Red Bull Racing signed him up as their team principal and quickly became one of the powerhouses of F1.
Geri, 52, has built a wonderful life for herself since she first landed in the public eye and has since amassed a whopping fortune herself. She is said to have earned £25million alone for her Spice Girls days, with the various reunions adding even more to her bank account.
Since then, her business decisions have brought in even more. Wonderful Productions Limited reported a £13.1million turnover and that she paid herself £8.9million. Geri released two autobiographies and appeared on a number of shows like The X Factor in 2011 and 2012 and Australia’s Got Talent.
There could be more cash to come, too. But as is customary in the F1 world, Christian Horner will also have to serve a period of gardening leave before he would be allowed to begin work with another team. It is believed he would be allowed to do so in the middle of next season, should he desire to step back into the paddock.
Before she became a pop sensation with the Spice Girls, Geri showed a particular flair for English. Ginger Spice scored an A in English Language at Camden School for Girls, but she didn’t bother with university as it was all about ‘girl power’.
Instead, Geri worked as a nightclub dancer in Majorca and became a glamour model at the age of 19. The singer then joined the Spice Girls as they went on to become the best-selling female group of all time.
