Earlier this week, the royal was spotted in a pendant necklace bearing the names of her children whilst on a trip to Columbia – here’s how you can channel her look for less
It’s no secret that here at the Mirror we love Meghan Markle’s style and will go to many lengths to try and find clothing, accessories and beauty staples that can help us recreate her look. The Duchess of Sussex was spotted in Columbia earlier this week sporting a stunning personalised necklace with the names of her children, to help her feel close to them while away.
And while many of us can’t quite afford the custom-made 14ct yellow gold pendant, which reportedly costs £,1350 – says the Daily Express, there are a number of necklaces on the market similar to Meghan’s that look just as stunning.
Lucky for us, this Bank Holiday weekend, Abbott Lyon – known for its stunning personalised jewellery – has reduced the prices of its pieces by up to 60%, including necklaces. The brand is loved by the likes of Stacey Solomon, Olivia Attwood and Molly Smith.

Abbott Lyon prides itself in presenting tarnish-free jewellery that is water-resistant and durable – meaning you won’t experience any dreaded green residue on your neck, wrists and fingers. Plus, it has a two-year warranty to give you peace of mind with every purchase. With options in both gold and silver, the retailer’s sale includes some best-sellers that can be custom-made with any name or initial.
For example, this Custom Stamped T-Bar Necklace in gold has been reduced from £79 to £71.10 – but you can get an extra 20% off with the code ‘TAKE20‘. It features a statement T-bar that can be engraved with whatever name or word you choose and book-ended with any birthstone.
Made from 18K gold plated stainless steel, the water, sweat and heat-resistant necklace has been made with over 60% recycled materials, with three different lengths to choose from: 14-16 inches, 16-18 inches and 18-20 inches.
For something a little more dainty, this Stacey Solomon fixed charm necklace can be personalised with charms that include letters, symbols, zodiac signs, and birthstones. Costing £69, with the code mentioned above, you can get 20% off – or if you’re in the market for a multitude of different pieces of jewellery, take advantage of the site’s two for one offer with the code ‘2FOR1‘.
If simplicity is what you’re after, this necklace has the option for just your initials and birthstone, as does this dangling initial alternative, now £71.10 – which has received a plethora of five star reviews from jewellery fans. One said: “Gorgeous necklace! I got this as a bridal shower gift and the bride was blown away with the beauty of the necklace and the quality of the piece.” Meghan herself has previously worn a necklace with Archie and Lilibet’s initials (respectively), so this is a great way to emulate her look.
While this next necklace, £99, isn’t a ‘name’ or ‘initial’ style, it’s a lovely option if you want to mark an important date in your life – such as an engagement or wedding day. The long chain measures at 17mm and is finished with a heart-shaped silver or gold pendant that is reminiscent of the royal’s personalised one.
For all the Sex and the City fans, this gorgeous, delicate signature name necklace (a la Carrie Bradshaw) in gold, rose gold or silver, has been reduced from £79 to £71.10 and is a favourite of Stacey Solomon. You can even add up to two charms of choice if you so wish. It’s a gorgeous everyday item that makes for the perfect gift.
Although if you’re need a new bracelet, this popular ‘clover’ style wrist-wear can be custom made with initials to pay homage to that special person in your life. Costing £65.55 down from £69, the bracelet has had high praise – although some noted that the clasp had encountered some issues, meaning it slipped off at times. Although for others, once secured, it did not budge.
Of course, Abbott Lyon isn’t the only jewellery brand that specialises in personalised gems. Missoma, an affordable brand favoured by the Duchess of Sussex and Princess of Wales, has some lovely initial-style necklaces here as well as PRYA, which offers diamante styles as well as plain options.
However, if you’ve fallen for one – or two – of Abbott Lyon necklaces in the sale, indulge in some Bank Holiday retail therapy by visiting the website here. The sale runs from today (August 23) until Monday, September 2.
