Police are investigating an attempted abduction of a schoolgirl following a horrifying incident that unfolded near a Birmingham beauty spot this week.
The shocking event took place near Faulkners Farm Drive in Erdington on Wednesday, September 10. The 14 year old girl was on her way to school when a man allegedly tried to ‘drag’ her into a car around 8.45am.
Fortunately, the girl managed to escape and police confirmed she was not physically harmed. However, the girl’s mother shared on social media that her daughter was ‘really shaken up’, reports Birmingham Live.

She expressed her disgust, saying: “This world is sickening. My daughter was almost abducted and dragged into a car this morning on the way to school.
“Lucky she managed to get away and return home safely. Feds best find him before he approaches someone else who won’t be so lucky. [It happened in Faulkner’s Farm Drive car park. Feeling sick.”
The teenager’s aunt also posted online, stating: “So some man tried to abduct my 14-year-old niece this morning on Faulkners Farm Drive, Erdington. But luckily she managed to get away. Can everyone share this so people know because another girl might not be so lucky.”
A spokesperson for West Midlands Police confirmed: “We are investigating following an attempted abduction of a 14-year-old girl near Witton Lakes Park.
“We were called to reports that a man had tried to abduct a girl near Faulkners Farm Drive in Erdington, at around 8.45 this morning, before she managed to run away. Our investigators are working to establish the full details and identify who was responsible. Thankfully, the girl was uninjured and is safe.
