Glastonbury Festival is on between June 25 – 29, as thousands will be busy preparing for the huge event, but there’s one thing you should definitely pack, says festival expert
With Glastonbury Festival fast approaching, many will be packing their bags ready for the massive five-day event between June 25-29. The festival attracts over 200,000 party people who love the atmosphere and the memorable line up of musicians, with this year’s Glastonbury featuring Olivia Rodrigo, Neil Young, Busta Rhymes, Rod Stewart and Kneecap plus heaps more.
Whether it’s your first time at the UK’s biggest music festival or if you’re a frequent Glastonbury goer, there’s one essential item that everyone should pop in their bag. Sophie Barker, a seasoned festivalgoer, has spoken out about something absolutely necessary that you should pack before you head to Worthy Farm on June 25.

Sophie has shared a couple of festival tips, to ensure those excitedly packing and preparing for the event know what’s best to bring along. Firstly, she has strongly advised that festivalgoers carry their own hand sanitiser.
She explained that the stations at the festival often run out during peak times. She said: “It’s important to rely on having your own hand sanitiser.
“There are hundreds of thousands of people using the hand sanitiser supplied by Glastonbury throughout the day and sometimes it just can’t be replenished quick enough, so make sure you have your own on you at all times!”
And there’s more – there’s one absolutely essential item that you must take with you to Glastonbury Festival – loo roll. So make sure you leave plenty of room in your bag for enough toilet paper to get you through the whole five days.
Bringing loo roll is imperative, as although some is provided on-site you may not be able to find the Festival Information Points (where toilet roll is sometimes provided) at the crucial time. Sophie advises keeping loo roll in your bag “at all times” while enjoying the festival next week.
The Glastonbury Festival website also offers advice and urges festivalgoers to ‘think before you pack’ but do not ‘skimp on the essentials’. However, the organisers also explained (on the website) the importance of only bringing what you really need to the festival.
They gave this advice: “However you arrive, you’ll inevitably have to carry your stuff a fair distance to where you camp. And as part of our Love Worthy Farm, Leave No Trace campaign we’d definitely encourage you to only bring things which you can take home – that includes everything, even your tent.”
The website also suggests: “Although you’ll be able to buy pretty much anything you need here on site, there are now fewer camping equipment stores than there have been in the past. So please bring a sturdy tent that will last a lifetime of festival camping. Please bring a sturdy tent – and take it back home with you.”
