Glastonbury bosses have issued a warning to everyone at the festival ahead of the extreme weather on Monday. The iconic music event is coming to an end today, with pop star Olivia Rodrigo taking to the stage as headliner.

However, organisers have already been planning ahead for when people will need to pack up and leave on Monday. It comes after temperatures are set to soar to over 30 degrees.

In an important message to everyone at the site, Glastonbury urged: “Temperatures of up to 31C are predicted for Monday. Please plan ahead for the heat. Read our advice below for those leaving the site by car & public transport.”

The festival have issued tips on how festivalgoers can be safe in the heat. They said: “TIPS FOR DRIVERS LEAVING THE SITE. PLEASE take all your belongings home with you – take what you can back to your car today so you have less to carry in tomorrow’s heat.

“To avoid queues & the heat, leave between midnight tonight and 6am Monday. Refill your water bottles before you leave site from our 800+ taps. Have supplies for your journey (there will be traders open tomorrow morning).”

They continued: “Wear light clothing, and place a damp cloth or hat on your neck or head. Use window shades and air conditioning if you have them, or keep a window open. Do NOT drive under the influence. There may be queues to leave site – please listen to stewards and be respectful & understanding.

“Get Travel Updates from Worthy FM on the app & 87.7FM and from @TravelSomerset on Twitter. Travel safely. If you’re tired on your journey home, stop and take a break. Keep an eye on your friends – if you / they feel faint, seek help from stewards.”

Glastonbury have also issued separate advice for those travelling by public transport out of the festival. They urged: “PLEASE take all your belongings home with you. Refill your water bottles before you leave site from our 800+ taps

“Apply sunscreen – available free from Info points – and cover up. Wear or improvise a hat, wear light clothing, and place a damp cloth on your neck / head. Make sure you join the correct queue, listen to stewards and be respectful & understanding.”

The message continued: “Take off your rucksack – it insulates you and stops you from losing heat. Keep an eye on you friends – if you / they feel faint, seek help from stewards.”

Rod Stewart performed in the Legends slot on Sunday afternoon, where he was joined by Ronnie Wood, Lulu and Mick Hucknall. Pop star Olivia Rodrigo has the task of closing the Pyramid Stage following previous headline slots from The 1975 and Neil Young over the weekend.
