Harry Kane makes feelings clear on Premier League return after transfer clause emerges

By staff7 October 2025No Comments4 Mins Read

Harry Kane has been linked with a return to the Premier League next summer thanks to having a release clause worth £56.7million in his Bayern Munich contract – and his former club have first refusal

Harry Kane has effectively ruled out a return to the Premier League next summer. England captain Kane, 32, says he is ready to commit to a new contract at Bayern Munich because he is “all in” to staying longer in Germany.

Former Tottenham striker Kane has two years left on his current deal but Bayern have already made it clear they want to extend. Kane has a complex clause which allows him to leave for £56.7million next summer and Tottenham have the first option on him which was part of the deal that took him to Germany just over two years ago.

Bayern star Kane, who won the Bundesliga last season and has already scored 19 goals for club and country, said: “In terms of staying there longer, I could definitely see that.

“I have not had those conversations with Bayern yet but if they were to arise I would be willing to talk and have an honest conversation. Obviously, it depends on how the next year or so goes and what we achieve together. Right now, I would say we are in a fantastic moment and I am not thinking about anything else.

“In terms of the Premier League, I don’t know. If you had asked me when I first left to go to Bayern, I would have said for sure I would come back. Now I have been there a couple of years, I would probably say that has gone down a little bit, not so much, but I wouldn’t say I would never go back.

“What I have learnt in my career is that different opportunities and different timings happen and things fall in place. Going back to my first point with Bayern right now, I am fully all in with Bayern.”

Kane also made it clear that his loyalty to Bayern also comes from enjoying his new adventure in the Bundesliga even if it probably ends any chance of a Spurs return or even a move to Major League Soccer in the future.

He added: “If there was a conversation about extending then we will see, but I have still got this season and another season. It is not like I am in my last year, it is not like there is any panic in that sense.

“I am calm, I love the manager at Bayern, I think he is fantastic and as always in my career as long as we are improving and I am improving then I am happy to see what we can achieve. I think MLS is too early for sure the way I feel right now, the way I am playing right now. The MLS would be something later in my career when I am thinking about the last couple of years or so.”
