Heated gilet ‘heats up really quickly’ and ‘is perfect for chilly days’

For shoppers looking to skip the thermals and get straight to business this season, Amazon’s heated gilet options have been keeping buyers toasty. Rated an average 4.7 out of five stars from more than 100 reviews, the WaooHeat Electric Heated Vest currently has a handy discount available.

The WaooHeat Electric Heated Vest, featuring 15 heating zones with three adjustable temperatures, is currently priced at £59.99, down from £64.99, saving shoppers a handy 8% in its medium size. It’s also available in unisex sizes small to triple extra large, although these are currently not discounted.

The vest has a large 10000mAh battery capacity, which is rechargeable, and it is equipped with an upgraded USB 3.0 and type-C output port for charging smartphones and iPhones. The brand says the WaooHeat Electric Heated Vest can provide up to eight hours of heating on a single charge.

Made with polyester and with a lightweight insulation design and fine lining, the brand says this heated gilet is perfect for the winter outdoors, listing ideal activities such as ‘snowmobiling’, ‘mountaineering’ or ‘hiking’. It also contains a thermal protection module to ensure that it heats up fast and wearers are protected from overheating.

It’s also machine washable, although the brand recommends a laundry bag and reminds users to remove the battery and to zip up all pockets prior. The brand says the vest can heat up in as little as five seconds.

Alternatively, savvy shoppers could look at Debenhams’ Groundlevel Winter Warm Heated Gillet Vest, currently priced at £19.99, down from £49.99, saving shoppers 60%. Available in sizes medium to double extra large, it features multiple heating zones and is ‘designed for freedom of movement and all-day wear’, according to Debenhams.

Buyers looking for something a bit more cosy for home-use could check out Lakeland’s Outdoor Heated Throw, priced at £99.99. Featuring a heavy, wearable design more akin to a throw than a gilet, it’s a one-size fits all solution to any temperature woes this winter, and it has three heat settings for ‘customisable comfort’.

Buyers of the WaooHeat Electric Heated Vest at Amazon mostly found the quality of the vest to be great. One review said: “Got this for my husband and it’s surprisingly good! It heats up really quickly, after about 30 seconds you can already feel it warming, which is perfect for chilly days.”

Another said as part of a longer review: “One of the best things I’ve bought for the winter! I have already used it twice whilst out on the motorbike and it has definitely kept me warm!”

A third added: “Very good quality and value for money. Very warm. Easy to use and versatile. True to size.”

Not all shoppers felt the same, however. One shopper said: “This is a great thing to own. It produces great heat. I haven’t been able to test the battery life as we’re having a pretty mild winter. The vest itself is kind of shiny which I’m not really a fan of, but I got this for the warmth not for the look. It’s easy to use and hook up and the battery is rechargeable.”

Another felt the sizes were a bit snug, and recommended buyers to size up if planning to wear something underneath. They wrote: “This vest fits a bit snug so I would size up as you are going to want to wear something underneath. It takes a few minutes to warm up but I found it warm enough without the heat. I feel like it is a great price for something like this as I have a heated sweatshirt from a name brand construction tool company that was twice the price.”

The WaooHeat Electric Heated Vest can be found at Amazon.
