Heated gloves that help beat the chill and ‘keep hands lovely and warm’ see price cut

‘After years of cold fingers whilst cycling, tried these. What a difference!’

With temperatures dropping, chilly hands will soon be returning to morning commutes, weekend walks, and outdoor jobs. Even the cosiest coat can’t protect against the sting of cold fingers – but a pair of heated gloves might.

Currently, Amazon is selling the Telguua rechargeable heated gloves from £67.99. Each glove features an electric heating element that covers the back of the hand and finger, keeping frozen extremities at bay during the winter period.

Telguua says the 5,500mAh battery lasts five to eight hours based on the chosen level of heat, which ranges from around 45 to 67 degrees C. This is enough charge for a day on the slopes, a long hike, or simply a wintry afternoon of garden chores.

It’s not just the heating element that keeps these gloves toasty. They’re constructed with several layers of material, including wind resistant 150D Oxford fabric on the outside, a TPU waterproof layer, and soft fleece insulation on the inside. Wrist straps and cinching cuffs keep the elements out, while a reflective strip improves visibility in darker conditions.

Additionally, the gloves – which come in sizes XS to XXL – are designed to work with touchscreen devices like phones, tablets, and car screens without being removed. They come with a dual USB cable that can charge both batteries at the same time, and are also machine washable once the batteries are removed.

Buyers could also consider the Glovii heated ski gloves from Currys . The brand says the gloves provide heat for up to six hours, although the 2,100mAh batteries are smaller than those in the Telguua pair. The Glovii heated gloves cost £48.97, and are currently only available at Currys in sizes medium and XL.

Shoppers could also get something like the Red5 rechargeable hand warmer from Boots instead. The device costs £12.50 and heats up to 40 to 60 degrees C, and may be slim enough to fit inside a pair of non-heated gloves, depending on the size.

Many Amazon shoppers are pleased with the Telguua heated gloves, and the product is currently rated 4.2 out of five on the website. One happy customer left a five-star review, saying: “Got these for my son’s commute to work on his ped. He loves them, they keep his hands lovely and warm on his six-mile journey. I don’t know how long the charge lasts as he’s not mentioned it, but he’s still using them after a few months, so they must be good.”

As part of a longer review, another buyer said: “We in England have had a fair bit of snow hit, so I got to really test these gloves, and I love them. I took my daughters for a snow fight wearing them, and they helped keep my hands warm while doing it and my daughters’ warm as we drove back. The girls used them to have both hands inside while they warmed up each using a glove.”

A third simply added: “After years of cold fingers whilst cycling, tried these. What a difference!”

Another left a four-star review with some feedback, saying: “These gloves provide great warmth, but ONLY to the backs of your hands. If you get cold fingers when winter cycling, however comfortable and well made they are (and they are both), these gloves are not for you. Battery life lasted for two winter trips reliably, each of about 40 minutes. I tried a third trip but they ran down. The reflective backs and fingers are a very good point.”

One customer felt the heating could be stronger, adding: “These heated gloves come packaged nicely. The gloves are super thick as they have the heated element inside the gloves. They come with two small battery packs that can be attached and placed inside the back of the gloves to power them.

“The gloves have three settings with three different heat levels. Unfortunately, I didn’t find the different levels as strong as I would have liked. The hottest setting doesn’t reach the level I want, but they are good for the winter.”

The Telguua rechargeable heated gloves are available from Amazon from £67.99.
