Graham, who shares his top tips for those visiting Benidorm in Alicante, Spain, has highlighted Uncle Ped’s, where pints are on offer for a third of the price of the North East of England
Holidaymaker finds £1.66 pint at ‘cheapest’ bar popular with Brits
A British holidaymaker was left delighted after finding a beer abroad that cost him less than a cup of tea in the UK.
Graham is known for his love of Benidorm and frequently visits the location with his best mate, Darren, 48. He shares insight into the Spanish resort with his 335,000 TikTok followers. During one of his recent trips, the 38-year-old from Middlesbrough found the Holy Grail: an incredibly affordable pint.
The lager cost him just £1.66, which is a third of the price of an average beer in the North East, according to Pint Tracker.

Brits online have been left blown away with a clip of the discovery, shared on 24 February and racking up 146,000 views. The pint can be found at Uncle Ped’s in Benidorm. “The place is known by many to be the cheapest in Benidorm along with Uncle Ron’s,” Graham, who is better known as Grumet online, explained.
“You also see a lot of [Spanish] locals in this bar, as the prices are so cheap. I’ve never seen Benidorm so busy for February; even the flight prices are higher. We usually get a return flight for £30 or £40, but it was far more this year.
“If you go to Benidorm and want to party every night it’s expensive, but if you go on a budget you can get a breakfast for £2.90.”
According to the bar’s chalkboard, Uncle Ped’s also has ‘happy hour’ where two spirits with a mixer can cost just over £5. Although the bar offers a pint of Amstel for a dirt-cheap price, this isn’t the cheapest lager that Graham has enjoyed in Benidorm.
Last June, he and Darren found a pint of Estrella being sold for just 86p – comparing it to “like back in the early 90s prices”.
Cheap pints are not the only reason that Brits flock to Benidorm in such great numbers. They also go for the roasts.
Tad Dawson is a man who will be familiar with many who have visited or lived in Benidorm over the years. The coal miner and amateur rugby player decided to swap his life Up North with then wife Lesley – who worked in a sewing factory in Castleford – for the sunny shores of Spain.
After trying to set up in Tenerife only to find the rents too high, the couple opted for Benidorm in Alicante. Three decades on, they have built a small empire of British themed pub restaurants that have been delighting and filling the bellies of English, Welsh, Scots and Irishmen and women abroad ever since.
Families head to the Yorkshire Prides to make the most of the prices found there. While they’ve gone up a little in recent years, a kids roast costs €9 (£7.67) if you choose beef, pork or chicken, or €10 for lamb. The adult versions are €11 and €12 respectively.
