Holly Willoughby and her signature wavy bob were back on our screens for Dancing on Ice, and her hairstylist has shared exactly which styling tool she used to create the look.
As the new series of Dancing on Ice kicks off, Holly Willoughby has also returned to co-host the show in an icy blue beaded dress with her signature bright blonde bob styled in her go-to style. Fans of the presents will know that Holly almost always has her hair styled in loose waves, with the right hand side tucked behind her ear.
But if you’ve ever wondered exactly how to create the look yourself, her hair stylist Ciler Peksah has shared a behind the scenes look at what it takes to do the iconic look. Sharing the photo on her Instagram, Ciler revealed that she uses Mermade’s Aircurl styling wand, £66, for the waves alongside a host of affordable styling products.

The Mermade Aircurl uses air rather than direct heat to style your hair, helping protect it from unnecessary damage. You can use it on both damp and dry hair, you simply need to dry your roots and wait until the ends are at least 90% dry, then let the Aircurl do its thing.
It comes with a 32mm barrel and has 360° airflow, making sure you get perfectly even curls and waves at every angle. The Mermade Aircurl also features ionic technology which helps eliminate frizz, and a ceramic barrel that gives your style long-lasting hold.
As well as creating curls, you can also use the Mermade Aircurl to shape, volumise and create loose waves, just like Holly’s. The styler is also comfortable and easy to hold, with a slimline handle and heat-resistant tip that lets you hold it for easier styling.
Shoppers have also been praising it, with one saying: “I got this air curl as a gift for my birthday as I wanted it for months. I really love it! The curls last 2 -3 days and they give my hair volume and a really natural look. I get them done very quickly and my hair doesn’t get burnt! You should try it. It’s really different from all the other curlers I have ever used.”
Another added: “The volume is sooo much more than a usual curling tong or hair dryer!! Love!”
One shopper on Beauty Bay, where the Mermade Aircurl is also available, even compared it favourably to a Dyson, writing: “This air curler is everything and more. It’s literally a dupe of the Dyson air wrap and I’m happy to share that I stopped using my Dyson now. The Mermade one is so much lighter, so I don’t have the arm ache anymore. The air curler head works with my interchangeable blow dry brush too which I also adore. The heat isn’t too high, so my hair doesn’t get too frizzy.”
However one did complain: “Not great for mid length hair – I can barely get it to make dents that last, let alone the movement advertised.”
If you do have longer hair, LookFantastic is currently offering the Beauty Works Professional Styler for £52.45 rather than £69.99, which features an extra-long barrel ideal for long hair. It’s also ceramic-coated to eliminate frizz with an adjustable temperature ranging from 80-220°C to create Hollywood-style waves and retro curls.
Elsewhere, ghd has slashed £40 off its Curve Creative Curl Wand Christmas Gift Set. Originally priced at £169, you can now get your hands on it for £129, with the entire set having a value of £192.45, making it an even better saving.
