The discount store has upped its effort in the garden section as Brits prepare for the warmer weather
Home Bargains is dividing fans when it comes to the latest viral garden decoration hitting shelves. Some people have said they love the concept – but other can’t ignore it’s “creepy” feature that becomes obvious once the sun goes down.
As the warmer weather draws closer, Brtis will be getting their gardens ready to make the most of the summer sun. This can sometimes mean a major makeover after months of winter neglect but a few simple decorations could be enough to make all the difference.
Lately, Home Bargains has proven to be the affordable place to go for items that don’t break the bank but maintain style and personality. In recent months, the store has provided hit after hit with its £20 grass-covered animal topiaries, massive range of dazzling solar lights and more.
But, the latest animal-based creation has the fandom divided. Some can’t wait to add it to their outdoor spaces whilst others firmly want it left on the shelves.
The latest solar light comes in two unique forms. Standing at 24cm tall, shoppers can pick from the Novelty Solar Light with Animated LED Eyes in either frog or snail form for £9.99 each.
The hypnotic lights claim to “brighten up your garden” with “animated LED eyes that come alive at night.” Home Bargains claims that the critters add “a touch of joy and whimsy” to gardens – but not everyone agrees.
When sharing a clip on TiKTok of the lights in action, shoppers made their feelings known. One joked: “Imagine that in the pitch black of night! Creepy!”
Another wrote: “Don’t know how I feel about those eyes!” But, it wasn’t all bad – some even felt the need to ‘adopt’ an army of the bright-eyed creatures.
A third commented: “OMG I need that frog in my garden. Going to run to Home Bargains!” Over on the Instagram version of this post, someone said: “I love these little frogs – so cute!”
And, a fifth person posted: “Going to get a few of these for all around the garden. I’m frog obsessed!”
Despite the difference of opinion, solar lights are proving to be a popular addition to lots of gardens this summer. As no wiring or batteries are required, it makes these eco-friendly and cost-effective lights a no-brainer for most gardeners.
You can find the lights online with both versions available for home delivery. You can order the frog here or you can get the snail here.
