The budget retailer is selling an affordable version of one of the UK’s most popular moisturisers – Charlotte Tilbury’s Magic Cream
Home Bargains has launched a new beauty product that’s causing quite a stir for its striking resemblance to Charlotte Tilbury’s offerings, not just in packaging but also in ingredients. Shoppers are thrilled to find the cream in stores, especially considering that snagging a pot of the designer brand’s coveted Magic Cream will set you back £54.
But Home Bargains’ own version is a steal at just £3.99, allowing skincare fans to pocket a saving of around £50. The bargain beauty item, dubbed ‘Mystical Cream’ by the brand Victoria Harper, echoes the name of Charlotte Tilbury’s £54 Magic Cream, one of the UK’s top-selling moisturisers.
Victoria Harper’s Mystical Cream claims to “plump” and “firm” the skin. Charlotte Tilbury’s £54 Magic cream also aims to “plump the look of skin” and “diminish the look of wrinkles”, ensuring your complexion is “visibly glowing and prepped for flawless makeup”.
A comparison of the key ingredients between the £3.99 and £54 creams reveals several identical components. Both feature Tocopheryl Acetate, an antioxidant.
They also include ‘skin-brightening’ Ascorbic Acid. Other shared ingredients are Glycerin, Sodium Hyaluronate, and ‘soothing’ Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice.
The £3.99 cream has garnered high praise from those who’ve tried it. On TikTok, beauty enthusiast Ash, known as Makeupbyash.x, posted a video demonstrating the application of the budget-friendly cream, reports the Liverpool Echo.
“Did I seriously just find a Charlotte Tilbury magic cream [alternative] in Home Bargains? ” She asked viewers. “This is packed full of Charlotte Tilbury’s main ingredients.”
She added: “Vitamin C, vitamin E and Hyaluronic acid, canola oil and aloe vera. So they have nailed all the main ingredients. But it is missing peptides and one other ingredient.
“For the price difference, I think it’s about £50 for a pot of Charlotte Tilbruy’s magic cream, and this was £3.99. I’m so impressed that they have actually tried to match the ingredients and they haven’t just gone for packaging.”
She mentioned: “It smells and feels very, very expensive, and it also feels really hydrating on the skin. It hasn’t left it feeling greasy. If you see this in your Home Bargains, I would definitely buy one.”
Another TikToker, Paulapronobis_, also praised the £3.99 Victoria Harper Mystical Cream. The accompanying music in their video enthused: “I’m in love. I’m obsessed.”
