Home Bargains selling 1kg of ‘nostalgic’ sweets for £13 ahead of Christmas

By staff4 October 2025No Comments3 Mins Read

The retailer is selling a gift set ‘packed with classic favourites that bring fun and flavour to any occasion’

Home Bargains is selling a “nostalgic” sweet shop for £12.99. The retailer is living up to its bargain name with the new gift set, listed as Christmas confectionery. Known for its affordable ranges, the discount store could be stocking a new crowdpleaser.

Available online, the Swizzels Sweet Shop 1.1kg could be ideal for shoppers looking for a festive treat. The product description states: “Enjoy a nostalgic treat with the Swizzels Sweet Shop 1.1kg, packed with classic favourites that bring fun and flavour to any occasion. Perfect for sharing or indulging in a sweet moment!”

The description continues: “Bring the magic of the sweet shop home with this vibrant Swizzels Sweet Shop Favourites Display! Bursting with all-time classics, this colourful stand is packed full of nostalgic treats everyone loves.

“From soft and chewy Squashies and fruity Refreshers, to tangy Love Hearts, iconic Drumsticks, and fun lollipops, there’s something for every sweet tooth.” It also notes that the 1.1kg sweet shop is refillable.

For shoppers looking for something different, another Christmas gift set that has caught attention is the £5.99 McVities Jaffa Cakes Snack Pack Dispenser.

The product description states: “Keep your snack stash fresh and fun with the McVities Jaffa Cakes Snack Pack Dispenser – 18 light sponge cakes topped with crackly dark chocolate and a tangy orange centre, perfect for sharing or treating yourself anytime!”

The Christmas chocolate set delighted shoppers when it was showcased on social media by Dansway Gifts and Bargains UK. The Facebook post said: “O.M.G! This NEW McVitie’s Jaffa Cakes Dispenser can now be found at Home Bargains. Fantastic gift to someone who can’t get enough of Jaffa Cakes, plus it looks really cool on display!”

Viewers were clearly impressed, and the post went viral. It racked up hundreds of likes and comments. Several responses came from excited shoppers who were eager to get their hands on the gift set, with some saying they’d spotted it last year, but hadn’t managed to find one. For example, a fan said: “I wanted one last year but they ran out.”

Another shopper shared: “Got mine last year and it’s my grandson’s treat container.” A similar reply said: “I bought them last year as gifts.” Someone else wrote: “I got this for my daughter last year – she loved it.”

Others tagged loved ones, suggesting they’d like the dispenser as a present. For example, one such reply said: “Christmas is coming – hint hint.” A second read: “I think we will be fighting each other for this at Christmas.” A third viewer added: “We know 2 people that would love this.” A fourth said: “You need one of these for your office.”

Not everyone was entirely pleased, though. A viewer commented: “Not big enough.” Someone joked: “Do you not think I’m in enough trouble already??? Anyways. 3 packs????? Real men buy them in boxes of 100!!”
