Home Bargains is a beloved staple on the British high street. It’s known for its budget-friendly products which cover a range of shoppers’ needs from home accessories and decor to food, cleaning essentials, baby supplies, beauty products, DIY, garden items and more.
It was founded in 1976 by Tom Morris in Liverpool, when he was just 21-years-old.
Initially, the single store was named Home and Bargain before being changed to Home Bargains in 1995. Throughout Merseyside, it’s still colloquially known by its original name, which can cause confusion among visitors and tourists who aren’t aware of the backstory.
