Joshua Santiago is the barber with a heart of gold. He’s captured the hearts of people across the globe by travelling around and offering free haircuts to those who can’t afford it
A barber has been praised for his latest dramatic transformation on social media.
Joshua Santiago is quite the magician with a pair of scissors as he helps many people with their appearances. He founded his barbershop on wheels, known as Empowering Cuts, and offers complimentary cuts to those living on the streets.
The mastermind, who boasts 493,000 followers on TikTok, is originally from Philadelphia but frequently travels around the Kensington area in the US to connect with individuals in need. Now in a recent clip, he recently helped a man he met on the streets.
In the video, it starts with: “I can’t stop smiling,” before the man is seen topless admiring his look in the mirror. He also thanked Joshua for his kind work, but seconds after, viewers are able to see what he looked like before his haircut.
Then moments later, Joshua gives him a transformation and even treats him to a wardrobe makeover. His caption read: “Sometimes all it takes is a smile to remind someone they’re not alone.” The video scooped 9,500 likes and 200 comments since it went live.
One said: “Amen! God bless you,” while another gushed: “This is my favourite one.” And a third chimed in: “Got me over here crying,” then a fourth TikTok viewer commented: “This makes me so happy.”
Joshua is known for his kind act where he travels across the US state offering complimentary haircuts to those living on the streets. Many people often hail Joshua as a “blessing”, and for several years he’s been travelling with his van.
He has a conversation with them before providing a free haircut that significantly changes how they look. Just recently, a homeless man turned into a “handsome fella” after his kind gesture.
The previous video, making waves once again, features a guy whose tangled hair was so matted, it resembled a shabby rug. The viral sensation garnered over 35,400 likes and close to 800 comments at the time of posting.
Joshua disclosed the hair was in such knots it looked like a makeshift wig. When handed his sheared hair, the man commented: “That’s f**ked up. It looks more like a toupee, look.”
