Several schoolchildren took part in a mass brawl in Bury, Greater Manchester, which was caught on camera and lead to several parents sharing their concerns for their kids

A mass brawl at a school involving several children in which several punches and kicks were thrown was caught in a shocking video shared online.
Multiple punches can be seen thrown before one person falls onto the ground and is then jumped on by two other youngsters. Further kicks and punches can be seen thrown in the horrifying footage, before others become involved in the highly chaotic scenes.
The scrap broke out near Hazel Wood High School, near Bury, Greater Manchester at around 3.30pm. Footage allowed a large group of youths, thought to have involved students, becoming involved in the disturbance, Manchester Evening News reported.
One concerned parent said: “I’m heartbroken this is the type of world we are living in. I was told via my child two boys were set upon by more than ten other students.
“I’m petrified of my son going back because he has also been the victim of bullying. I was sent the videos from another child’s mother who was worrying her child was involved, but luckily they weren’t.”
Mr Greenhalgh, Executive Secondaries Headteacher for the Oak Learning Partnership to confirm students from Hazel Wood High School school were involved. He said: “We have been notified about a disturbance that occurred after school on Poplar Avenue, away from the school, which involved some of our students.
“I want to assure parents, guardians, and our community that despite these issues occurring away from school and out of school time, we take these matters very seriously. The safety and welfare of our students is our highest priority, and we have high expectations of our students’ behaviour.
“Day-to-day the school remains a safe and happy place for learning. We are conducting a thorough investigation and appropriate action will be taken including appropriate sanctions for any of our students who were involved.”
Greater Manchester Police confirmed they were called to reports of a fight at around 3.25pm. They said in a statement: “At around 3.25pm yesterday (22 January 2025), officers responded to reports of a fight on Poplar Avenue, Bury.
Upon arrival, the group had dispersed. No injuries were reported at the scene and enquiries are ongoing.”
