Households ‘avoid running central heating’ with 35% off heater

‘It’s dead quiet, the remote control is brilliant’

It’s official, the colder months are creeping in. This means many households will be on the lookout for a new heater and Amazon shoppers have praised one for being ‘energy-efficient, portable and simple to use’.

The Dreo Electric Heater from Amazon has a 35% discount, taking the price to £42.49, from £64.99. This nifty heater is remote-controlled, meaning shoppers can adjust heat, set timers, or switch modes with ease.

Moreover, with a new heat funnel design, which delivers heat within seconds and enhances warm air circulation, this isn’t just a standard heater. The heater comes in two styles and other colours, including silver for £58.06 and white for £58.06, all of which are currently offered at discounted prices.

With a temperature range of 5 to 35 degrees Celsius, a feature which keeps the heater’s noise to a minimum, and small dimensions of 15.3cm x 15.3cm x 24.5cm, it covers all bases.

However, as an alternative, shoppers can find this Dunelm 650W Oil-Filled Radiator, which is equipped with thermostatic control and is well-suited for smaller rooms due to its compact size, the brand says. With dimensions of 27cm x 41cm x 13.5cm, and with running costs of just 14p per hour, this £25 radiator is ideal for the colder months ahead.

It has three different modes, overheat and tip protection, and as it is discounted too, can help save a bit of cash.

Or there is another stylish version available at Lakeland. Although more expensive, at a price of £59.99, shoppers can get their hands on this De’Longhi Capsule Fan Heater, which has a self-regulating fan heater and provides fast, direct heat.

The Dreo Electric Heater has received lots of praise on Amazon, with a 4.6 average star rating out of five, from just over 6,000 reviews. One customer said they can’t imagine the colder months without it, explaining: “I bought the Dreo Electric Heater because I wanted a portable, energy-efficient option to avoid running my central heating full blast all winter.

“After using it for a month, I can’t imagine winter without it! This heater warms up my bedroom quickly before bed (love the timer mode) and keeps my space cosy during the day in ECO mode for energy-saving, set at 20°C.

“It’s super quiet – like a computer fan at idle – so sometimes I forget it’s on. The portability is another plus; it’s about the size of a 2L kettle, so I can easily carry it with one hand from room to room.”

Another shopper was happy with the volume saying: “What a wonderful little heater! Does exactly what it says on the box. It’s dead quiet, the remote control is brilliant, and it’s so simple to use.” While a third person wrote: “Would recommend this for anyone looking to heat a small space fast. Great value.”

Some had feedback, with one customer noting: “Works well but could be better if it oscillates.” Another said: “Great warmth while using it, but as soon as you turn it off, it gets cold again.”
