The Traitors’ third series will come to an end this week but fans can already apply for the next series in the hope of following in the footsteps of finalists like Charlotte Berman
Fans of the Traitors can now apply to compete on the next series of the reality TV show ahead of filming later this year.
The BBC show has proved popular since it debuted back in 2022 and is already into its third series, which concludes on Friday night. Whoever wins will follow in the footsteps of series one winners Aaron Evans, Hannah Byczkowski and Meryl Williams, and more recent champion Harry Clark.
Ahead of the latest final, applications for the next series are already open through the BBC’s website. They are due to close on February 9, though it has been warned that the closing date can be extended or reduced without notice.
There are eligibility requirements for potential applicants, who must provide personal details about themselves on the application form, which is available through the broadcaster’s website. Applicants are also asked to select whether, if they had the choice, they would be a Traitor or a Faithful.
The application form states that the eligibility requirements include candidates being at least 18 years old at the time of applying. Applicants must also have the right to legally reside in the UK in order to apply for the acclaimed TV show.
Those wanting to apply must also be available to take part in the show for up to 4 weeks. It’s stated on the application form that it’s anticipated to be underway later this year in “spring/summer,” though could change without notice.
Sharing that requirement, the form states: “You must be available to take part in the programme for up to 4 weeks currently anticipated to be in Spring/Summer 2025. Please note that this may change at our discretion without notice.”
The subsequent series of the show will come following the third series, which launched earlier this month. It will conclude on Friday night with its final, in which the remaining players will compete for the chance to win the prize fund.
Host Claudia Winkleman introduced more than 20 players in the launch episode but now just five remain. Alexander Dragonetti, Francesca Rowan-Plowden, Jake Brown and Leanne Quigley are still in the game as Faithfuls. They are up against Charlotte Berman, who’s now the only Traitor left.
It’s already been announced that there will be a twist in the final, which means that it will be different from the last episode of previous seasons. The prize fund, ahead of the final episode, stands at £73,000 but it’s expected that the finalists will be able to increase that in their final mission.
The latest series of the Traitors concludes tonight on BBC One and BBC iPlayer at 8.30pm. It will be followed by companion show Uncloaked at 9.40pm.
