Sol de Janeiro has launched what’s being touted as its ‘best yet’ perfume, which perfume lovers are saying is the ideal scent for this week’s heatwave – and there’s a savvy way to snap it up for less. The latest fragrance, Sundays in Rio, usually priced at £24, is a fresh addition to the popular brand’s range.
The fragrance opens with notes of pink pepper, pear and ambrette absolute, then unfolds into a heart of cosy vanilla, orris concrete (which imparts violet-like notes) and ‘Champaca pure jungle essence’ – a powdery white floral with rich honeyed undertones. Its base is built on amber musk and woody upcycled orcanox.

Jada Jones recently tried out this fragrance in a shop and commented: “When I saw this one had pink pepper in I was excited to see something more sultry from Sol de Janeiro, but instead I found it smelled more like berries. It’s still a lovely spray but definitely more fruit heavy in scent. For those who are after something more sultry then maybe Bath and Body Works Seeing Rouge would be a better fit.”
