How to watch the Ballon d’Or 2025 for FREE – Live stream details and ceremony start time

By staff22 September 2025No Comments4 Mins Read

The footballing world is set to crown the latest Ballon d’Or winners. A selection of elite players across the globe have been nominated for the prestigious individual award, which will be presented to the standout player of last season.

The results will be based solely on players’ performances during the 2024/25 campaign and will not include the first few weeks of the new season. Manchester City star Rodri won the men’s award last year, while Barcelona forward Aitana Bonmati clinched the 2024 women’s Ballon d’Or.

This year, PSG have several contenders for the men’s Ballon d’Or after their Champions League triumph, while Mohamed Salah helped fire Liverpool to the Premier League title. In the women’s game, the Lionesses retaining the Euros has led to several nominations for Sarina Wiegman’s team, with Arsenal duo Leah Williamson and Alessia Russo also winning the Champions League.

The Ballon d’Or ceremony will also include the inaugural women’s Kopa trophy, awarded to the best under-21 player worldwide, as well as introducing a Yashin trophy for the women’s game, awarded to the best goalkeeper. The Gerd Muller trophy is awarded to the top scoring striker.

Additional awards include club and coach of the year, as well as the Socrates award for humanitarian work. Here, Mirror Football provides all the details of how to watch the Ballon d’Or ceremony.
