Hossoland is a fairytale-themed adventure land, opening on the northern coast of Poland on May 31, featuring a lighthouse and attractions inspired by local Baltic legends and fairytales
Europe is gearing up for the grand opening of an incredible new theme park that’s set to give Disneyland Paris a run for its money.
Hossoland, a fairytale-themed adventure land, is all set to open its doors on the northern coast of Poland come May 31. The park, which will be built around a lighthouse, draws inspiration from local Baltic legends and fairytales for its attractions.
The park is divided into four magical lands: the Dragon Valley of the Mines, the Land of the Vikings, the Kingdom of Baltambrya, and Mermaid City. First announced back in 2017, Hossoland aims to compete with some of Europe’s biggest amusement parks.
Covering a whopping 400,000 sqm, the park boasts 50 rides, with the GhostRider steel coaster being the crowning jewel. This new multi-million-pound rollercoaster soars to a height of 53m/176ft, propelling thrill-seekers at breakneck speeds of 72 mph.

Speaking to Planet Attractions, Karen Hovsepyan, vice president of Hosso Group which operates the park, said: “Hossoland will be the only amusement park of such a large scale on the Polish coast”. Although initially slated to open last spring, the launch was pushed back to 2025. However, expectations are high, with hopes of attracting one million visitors annually, reports the Express.
Ms Hovsepyan also emphasised the park’s unique coastal location, adding: “The location not only makes it a standout attraction within Poland but also a key destination for residents of nearby Berlin, promising to boost regional tourism significantly.”
The park will feature 20 different food and drink spots, catering to even the pickiest of eaters. The Hosso Group has grand plans for expansion beyond the initial theme park, with a waterpark and additional themed lands already in the pipeline post-launch.
For Brits with a penchant for theme parks wishing to visit Hossoland, the nearest airport is Szczecin. Direct flights can be booked via Ryanair from both Liverpool and London, with the park being roughly an hour’s drive from the airport or less than three hours from Berlin.
However, Hossoland isn’t the only new theme park set to challenge Disneyland Paris in 2025. Bommelwerald, an indoor theme park based on Dutch comic characters Tom Poes and Ollie B.Bommel, created by cartoonist Marten Toonderand, is also due to open.
The park will boast 18 attractions spread across a 9,000 sqm site, including a mini flume ride and a climbing tower, and is set to open later this year. Visitors will enter the park through a castle and can then explore various themed areas, such as the Dark Tree Forest and an inventors’ section.
Park director Edwin Bomers has stated that visitors will “feel like they’re outside” in the “weatherproof” indoor adventure land, as everything will be ‘lit up” so they can’t see the roof. The park has yet to announce a firm opening date.
Europa-Park, located in Rust, south-western Germany between Freiburg and Strasbourg, France, holds the title of being the largest theme park in Europe. It’s also the second most visited resort on the continent, with Disneyland Paris taking the top spot.
