‘I asked AI to create me a personalised Traitors look and this is what happened’

Fashion lovers, hear me out. Remember Cher’s iconic virtual closet on mid-90s comedy Clueless, where she effortlessly mixed and matched outfits with a tap of a screen? What felt like a futuristic fashion fantasy in the 90s is quickly becoming reality in 2025. From personalised styling suggestions to virtual try-ons, artificial intelligence is transforming how we choose what to wear.

As a fan of Claudia Winkleman’s outfits on The Celebrity Traitors, I asked Google Gemini to choose me some looks inspired by the game show – and yes, that includes the famous Spanx leggings (£68) that Claudia swears by, and I was able to shop for everything without leaving the house.

To use the AI-powered assistant, I selected a selfie from my photo library and uploaded it to the Gemini chat, typing ‘please reimagine me in The Traitors look’. The chatbot generated an AI picture of me in a stylish, all-black outfit that Claudia would no doubt approve of. It nailed the brief perfectly – Gemini dressed me up in a military-style black blazer, black high-neck blouse, black leggings, knee-high boots, and chunky jewellery for dramatic details.

Just like Cher pressing the button ‘dress me’ on the computer, I changed from a ‘jeans with a nice top’ to a Claudia lookalike. I was impressed by the virtual tool and loved how it kept everything in the background untouched. I then asked Gemini ‘where can I buy this outfit?’ – and it gave me a few options.

Gemini has put together a look that is chic, effortless, and consists of military-inspired tailoring, it said: “The key pieces you are wearing are: 1. A Black Double-Breasted Blazer with Silver/Metal Buttons. This is the most crucial piece and has a very strong “military” or “Balmain-esque” style. The buttons are prominent, often arranged in two rows.”

For that, Gemini suggested the Karen Millen Tailored Button Military Blazer, £159, in black. The fitted silhouette and silver buttons made a striking contrast that also complements the bold jewellery pieces.

For a more affordable option, Gemini said I could go for Finery London’s Collared Jacket, which is available at M&S for £79. With that, I could also get a Beauty Advent Calendar for £60 when spending £35 on fashion, home or beauty. The beauty advent calendar has 25 products worth a total of £330, including eight full-size goodies.

Moving on to the top, Gemini thinks that a black high-neck top adds a sleek, dark layer underneath the blazer. The New Look Black High Neck Bubble Hem Blouse appeared in my top search, it features a shimmery finish and elasticated bubble hem for a fluid feel, and it retails at £25.99.

For a more structured style, the Arrange structured jersey top with padded shoulder is another option I can consider. Priced at £85 at ASOS, it has seam detailing along the bodice as a soft touch to balance the more masculine shoulder pads.

Contrast Collar & Cuff Velvet Dress

The plush velvet fabric exudes sophistication, while the contrast collar and cuffs add a touch of elegance. Elevate the wardrobe with this chic piece, perfect for any elegant occasion.

The undeniably cool Spanx High-Waisted Seamless Leggings, £68, are the must-haves to ‘keep the look sharp’, and they’re available at Selfridges. Alternatively, the Shaping Leggings from Calzedonia, £34.99, are crafted from stretch fabric that flatten the stomach and slim the hips, creating a smooth silhouette.

As for the shoes, Gemini noted that black boots, likely lace-up, combat, or tall boots, ‘add to the edgy, utilitarian vibe’ for The Traitors aesthetics. The House of Braur’s Classic Leather Long Boots, £149.95, are handcrafted in Valverde del Camino, a Spanish region renowned for bootmaking, to deliver investment dressing for a lifetime of stylish wear.

La Redoute’s Leather Knee-High Boots with Notched Sole, are currently 50% off and have dropped from £140 to £56. They come with a 4cm block heel on a chunky platform, making them perfect for all-day wear.
