‘I can’t believe the £40 Tu Sainsbury’s coat that could pass for designer is still in stock’

I found a £40 Sainsbury’s coat that looks like designer styles worth over £500, and it’s still available to shop in all sizes

I popped into Sainsbury’s over the weekend for a quick food shop, and somehow ended up distracted in the Tu Clothing section (as you do). Between the stylish chunky knits, cosy pyjamas and chic accessories, one piece in particular instantly caught my eye: a fringed coat.

I was shocked when I noticed the £40 price tag considering this coat could easily pass for a high end designer jacket. And even more surprised, when I checked online to see that all sizes are still in stock.

With the temperature (sort of) dropping, I’ve been hunting for a stylish yet practical coat, and this one ticks all my boxes.

The Tan Belted Fringed Jacket is made from a soft brushed fabric, featuring a smart collar, subtle fringed detailing and tie-waist belt that cinches perfectly for a flattering shape. It’s one of those pieces that instantly pulls an outfit together, even if you’re just wearing a simple t-shirt and jeans underneath.

It’s similar to £500+ styles from designers like Claudie Pierlot and Simkhai, but for a fraction of the price.

Elegant, warm and versatile, this affordable find is the kind of piece you’ll be wanting to style all your autumn outfits around.

Not to mention, the fringe detailing fits perfectly into the popular Western trend we’ve seen a lot of this year. Layer over some double denim and cowboy boots, and you’ll look like you’ve walked right off the set of Yellowstone (in the chicest way!).

I’m not the only one who’s loving Tu Clothing’s autumn outerwear right now. Just last week, EastEnders’ star Louisa Lytton says she was “stopped all day” by people asking where her coat was from. And the coat in question was Sainsbury Tu’s Brown Patent Faux Leather Coat , which is on sale for £36 (down from £45) and miraculously still in stock in all sizes from XS to XXL.

Another coat that caught our attention last week came from Kate Garraway on the first episode of Celebrity Traitors. Wearing an incredibly chic 2-in-1 scarf coat in what we’re predicting will become the top colour pairing for autumn– teal and chocolate brown– that viewers can actually shop on the high street, her look had us all immediately googling where to find the piece.

Though the coat looks just like Boohoo’s 2 in 1 Scarf Check Wool Look Coat, on sale for £45 and incredibly still in stock, we believe it may be New Zealand brand The Iconic’s pricier Harriet Check Long Wool Coat.
