A savvy woman has uncovered a “secret” coffee shop hidden within the royal walls of Buckingham Palace, and it’s causing quite the stir online. Known as allthatspretty on TikTok, Laura-Ann opened up about this hidden gem, leaving many social media users stunned at the prices.

Her video gives us a virtual stroll through the café, showcasing its splendid views over the palace grounds, an assortment of delicate cakes and the option to savour an ice cream out on the terrace – making it seem like an idyllic spot for those fancying a regal day out. Laura-Ann mentioned the added bonus of being able to wander around the palace itself, which she cites as a delightful opportunity to immerse in the history of Britain’s monarchy.

What really caught viewers off-guard was the price list revealed in her clip. The menu displayed some figures that caused viewers to be shocked.

The camera panned over the menu to show that a simple espresso is priced at £2.25, while starting rates for coffee are pinned at £3.20. Those looking to tuck into a sandwich will need to cough up £5.50, and the afternoon tea box commands a sum of £27.50.

Since being posted, the video has captured the attention of hundreds, prompting a flurry of reactions and comments as people thought the prices were so good.

One visitor was struck by the reasonable costs, sharing: “Those prices look good.” To which Laura-Ann responded: “Not bad for Central London in a palace.”

Another chimed in, praising the uniqueness of the experience: “What a great idea. Such a beautiful experience.”

An enthusiastic individual recounted their own visit: “I’ve been on the tour – it’s wonderful.” A fourth person also shared their positive feedback, writing: “Love Buckingham Palace. The disabled access is wonderful. We got a buggy from the front gate and did the garden tour in a buggy – it was amazing.”

Laura-Ann herself said it was an enchanting day out, confessing she could have basked on the terrace “all day.” Now, her advice has others eager to give it a whirl.

In case you’re out of the loop, Buckingham Palace hosts a coffee shop that open its doors seasonally. Recently, they’ve welcomed back visitors to indulge in this summer’s offerings.

Their advertisement entices visitors with the following: “The Garden Café is situated on the West Terrace of Buckingham Palace, just beyond the exit from the State Rooms. Take a moment to relax and enjoy views over the famous Palace lawn and lake.

“Our seasonal menu celebrates the best of the British summer, offering freshly prepared sandwiches, bagels, and salads, iced coffees, summer drinks and strawberries and cream. Highlights include coronation chicken seeded rolls, smoked salmon and cream cheese bagels and our Garden Lunch Box featuring Mediterranean vegetables with a sun-dried tomato and black olive quiche.

“This year’s patisserie selection features freshly baked Queen of Puddings, a classic English dessert of lemon and vanilla custard, raspberry jam, and delicate burnt meringue, alongside gluten-free chocolate brownies, lemon drizzle cake and much more.”

“The Garden Café caters to a wide range of dietary requirements.” The opening times for the Garden Café are as follows:

  • July and August: 10am – 7pm (takeaway only from 7pm – 7.15pm)
  • September: 10am – 6pm (takeaway only from 6pm – 6.15pm)
